Is there a way to avoid wasting ops due to using it and still dying? This has happened quite a lot lately.

Nope. They're called oops packs for a reason.

On a more (half)serious note, the only way would be to anticipate when you're going to take damage. But, well, if you knew it, you would probably not take damage.  ^_^

Try popping them before trying to run through the ravager goo.

They make you a very shiny corpse to look at. What's not to like about that?

Notice how both says the same- one just does'nt make it blatantly obvious - that the trouble is caused by our own stupid behaviour.

Don't worry, there's a really simple solution to this common problem. If your playing on PC just, just go into your Program Files>Origin Games>Mass Effect 3>Default.Ini then just scroll down to "Online" and change PlayerCharOpsLag=1 to PlayerCharOpsLag=0.

This will magically boost your connection speed by fifteen gajillion and completely kill your Ops Pack lag.

I see we have another victim of OPA, a disease which ravages communities.

There's not much you can do:

But, please give generously to Victims Of Ops Pack Addiction, and help other OPA victims in other communities.

Am i the only one that has sometimes this problem (ops pack and die) also on host (though off host with high lag is way more frequent)?

hmm,... those oops packs, ...

what they are really good for: when down and surrounded by enemies -> use them between MediGel and Missile Launcher!

Why couldn't BioWare have done this.

I like my shiny blue corpse.

I also have OPA. My consumables usually fall in this ratio: Thermal Clip: x20 Medigel: x20 Missile: x10 Ops: 5.

What makes them truly amazing is the ability to negate a sync kill if primed for one. Seeing as a rarely host, using ops packs when near death is a 50/50 shot for effectiveness, so avoiding sync kills tends to be its most effective use.

PlayerStoreRandomize=1

Yep, even with a small degree of lag that happens, works a million times better on host, but then again so does the rest of the game...

If there's a lot of lag and you medi-gel yourself, but get stomped just as your character revives due to lag, you will die and stay in spectator for awhile. Magically, you will wake up again, but with one bar of health only.
