Low DPS? Wut? It´s one of those weapons with which I consistently score well. Aim for the head, your huntermode will keep the recoil very low and your passives will take care of the damage. I recommend using the piercing mod and extended barrel though. Keeps your CDs very low and you deal a shitton of damage. Build I use, if I´m not running around with the sabre:

The PEM it's suboptimal, but that way I save other pieces of equipment. And I'd say there are plenty of weapons that would perform better on it (saber, paladin, GPS from the top of my head. I'd even bet that the GPSMG would be better). And while it's more than decent, bosses are troublesome, even more so if you (I) have to clutch (seriously, the last three matches I've played with that setup I've had to solo the later waves and do the wave 10 objectives alone)

 

That being said, I'll try your GPR mods setup. I'll probably keep the full medic turret though.

Turret can be useful either way. I like the damage of it, for me personally, the medic turret never cut it. With that said, your build is otherwise solid. As for mods, your GPR holds 100 rounds in the mag at X. That´s more than enough, so there is really no need for extended mag. And yes, the sabre beats the GPR by miles, especially if you run it with drill rounds and headshot all the things through walls .

^ If you always play with BSN quality filled lobbies + all OP on Gold, yeah, you won't ever have time to use your turret. You'll all be too busy searching for anything alive to kill. But play in a poor pug lobby or solo, then all of a sudden if comes in handy again.
