What's that got to do with it? They would still make main Dragon Age games. The only difference is that they'd also make an SRPG game, which is a genre that some of us love.So "screw you fans of Kotor 1&2" MMO was not made by Bioware?
Riiiiiiiiiight.
Mark Darrah asks... "Would you play a Dragon Age Tactics game?"

Sooooooooooo...
1. The question is on social networks, not on official forum aka here, means Zynga Farmville clone on Facebook.
2. No romances? That's not Dragon Age game.
3. My first 2 points are BS, and it's another pay2win garbageware (heroes of DA) for phones?
No. I don't want anything like that. And because the question is not here, I can't vote:
NO
Go to hell EA with crap ideas about products of no cost and make proper epic DA4 already. You're not a poor company that just can't afford funding tripleA RPG.
1. Mark said it'd be a full game, unlike Heroes of DA or The Last Court.
2. Mark said it'd likely have romances.
3. See 1.

So is it possible a tactics DA game is already in development and the devs are teasing us?
I'd suspect that the reason is more prosaic than that: they crushed numbers, realized that it would take them 4 to 6 years to craft the next game, and decided that instead of telling side stories through comics and novels, they could use some resources to produce a less-expansive-to-make interquel to keep the series fresh in the audience's minds

Phew, for a moment I thought they would keep the battle system consistent for two games in a row!
Seriously, though, if this is a thing I hope it's a spin off and not the plan for DA4.
It would be made - I quote - "in addition".

Nope, unless they include clever mechanics like in Divinity: OS..

In short - YES. I'll pre-order today if it would help get it 'Kickstarted'
I'm thinking Divinity:OS, X-com 2 - Really enjoying X-com 2 at the moment issues aside, Torment: TON, etc.

Before ME3, Bioware hadn't done multiplayer before, but I'd say that turned out to be pretty fun. I think people need to give tactical RPGs (or SRPGs - strategy RPGs) a chance. They can be surprisingly addictive.
Didn't they make MP mode in Baldur's Gate and Never Winter Night?

No thank you. I see what you are trying to do though. You guys are so lazy it is unbelievable. You wish DA was like FIFA or Battlefield right? You could ship the same game every year and got big sales. With DA, you actually have to produce a game.

Personally, I'm hoping we'll one day see a Telltale-style DA spin-off.
Yeah, that could be fun. Though one thing I really don't like about Telltale Games is their dialogue timer. Ruins the game for me. Anyway this kind of DA game could be an interesting way to introduce future companions. Like instead of Bull telling us about Seheron we could actually play it and make decisions which would be imported to DAI via the Keep. So this way we could make choices that shape our companions before our protagonist even meets them.
Also I would love to see Dragon Age version of Disruptor Beams Game of Thrones Ascent. In that game you have your own castle, your advisors and soldiers - it's kind of similar to the War Table in DAI. The War Table was great by the way, I hope DA4 also has something like it.

Why would you care whether he said those things here or on Twitter? I mean, I get why people are complaining that he didn't do this poll on the official forums, but the information he gave about the project he has in mind should be true regardless of where he posted it, no?

wishful thinking:
2016 MEA
2017 spring DA 3.5
2017 autumn new IP
2018 DA4

Tactics game means shorter development time, so a 2017 release is possible after the coming MEA. If the new IP launches in 2018, this means the "classical" DA 4 cannot be released before 2019...not sure if I like it :-/
wishful thinking:
2016 MEA
2017 spring DA 3.5
2017 autumn new IP
2018 DA4
That is assuming that the main team is developing, they could easily give the project to the Austin team that made The Descent or even give the development to an external studio.

I would absolutely love this. I love tactical RPGs (Shining Force, Final Fantasy Tactics, Vandal Hearts, XCOM, and Massive Chalice are some of my favorite games of all time) and I'm a huge Dragon Age fan. Yes, yes, a million times yes.

Great... basically a required bridge game in a format that I don't want.
