What are you basing that figure on? I mean, obviously they're not going to base this decision on a single Twitter poll anyway, but how do we know what figure they were looking for?

I'd say the fact that the tweets garnered far more interest than Mark Darrah seems to have been anticipating indicates that quite a lot of people are enthusiastic about the concept.

I'm basing it on the fact that BioWare would need to turn a profit on this. Unless of course it's made by a third party, in which case the third party is taking most of the risk. But, considering that the Twitter feed is followed mostly by fanboys and fangirls who will buy anything DA related, it should be at least 90% approval before they consider it. This was asking about taking the series in a new direction. It wasn't just about making a new game within the same genre. This is a genre change, essentially. When you do something that radical you have to factor in that many of those screaming "yes" at this will actually not like the new direction once they see it. You also need to factor in the casual fans who don't just buy anything related to the series. These gamers save their money for the major titles, and this would be a side title type of game. You also want it to be well received by a large margin. A 50-50 split will basically balance out to a 5.5 or maybe a 6 user score. A score like that will only hurt future main releases. And right now the poll only had 49% say yes, while another 26% or so was split among demanding it be available for specific platforms. That's a terrible number. Not only are the brand loyal fans only at 50% (assuming all are even brand loyal), but more than that some of the yeses have conditions. You've got the casual DA fans being largely unaccounted for in the poll because it's on Twitter, and you've got a good 22% that absolutely will not buy it because they hate the idea entirely. Those are horrible numbers.

23% want PC only, not handheld. 3% want only on handheld, not on PC. So logically BioWare will go the PC only route because they would rather please the 23%. However, the handheld is already developed for. So would BioWare release it on both? It's a tough situation. If they release a handheld type game on the PC, then PC gamers might hate it because of the limited graphics and handheld type controls. We have all read the complaints about the PC version having console-like controls. But the point is BioWare would likely alienate some percentage in doing this, or else make more work for themselves by developing the Fire Emblem engine to fit the PC.

The tweet count only shows how many responded. 22% of those tweets hate the idea completely, and I'll tell you right now that number is much larger than 22%. It's a bad risk. At least 22% won't buy it at all, how many of the 49% won't like it? Which percentage will be alienated by the choice of platform? And what are BioWare's intentions? Just put out a quick and easy handheld game? 23% of those that would buy it said no to handhelds. So yeah, BioWare is in a bad spot with this. They should forget all about it and simply stick to making what is already developed.

Ya know, they paid all this money and wasted all that time adapting the first person shooter engine of Frostbite 4 to Dragon Age's style, and they're just letting it go to waste. They should be releasing DLC adventures for Inquisition to keep the game fresh and exciting until DA4 goes into development in the same gaming engine. It will make them tons of money and save them a lot of time when it comes to importing our characters over into DA4.

A Dragon Age Tactics game that we create the whole party.

Yes!

Great... basically a required bridge game in a format that I don't want.

They could do something like Halo Wars (an RTS in an FPS saga) and have it set before the main games, but that would be a bit tricky because it wouldn't be set in the Dragon Age...

As for the concept, I honestly don't know. Maybe it would be fun, but if it's possible I'd much rather they simply pool their resources/efforts into making DA4 awesome.

I'd play a Dragon Age SRPG over Inquisition 2 any day.

I wish they would have polls on Twitter, Reddit and the BSN. It would be more informative, and for once, actually include us poor people here on their official forum <_<

I'm 100% all for it. Hopefully, the story is more political like Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics rather than something overly magical. I'm quite sick of the fade, elvhen, darkspawn, wardens, and other such nonsense. I more so want to learn more about the various nations of Thedas (outside Ferelden) and their interactions with each other.

I wouldn't mind a tactics game at all. But I'm more worried that they'll focus on this instead of dragon age 4. (Which I know hasn't been confirmed yet.)

I wouldn't play it, but I really wouldn't be the target audience for this kind of thing anyway. I'm not interested in the EU or any kind of mobile or facebook games. I also don't play games for combat anyway but the turn based tactical style combat is probably my least favorite (with first-person or close third-person reflex based combat being my favorite).

I am sorry but I don't think I'll ever play it.

Tactics and strategics games bore me as hell, therefore I'll just leave it to people who like them

Yeah Twitter is the unofficial official method of communication for Bioware, now.

Seems that way  I really wouldn't mind if they used it, if they also used this site. As it is now though, it feels insulting, and in my opinion, makes the devs seem vain, since it basically guarantees constant praise from people "following" them. Oh well.

Never thought of that.

Not to meantion that now when I think of it, it's vanity definetly.

Well I don't tweet, or read twitter so I miss out on all that cool stuff that goes on over there.

I don't think they should do this, I don't even know why they want to. Isn't it difficult enough making Dragon Age and Mass Effect?

Besides would it just be some half way game that never really lives up to Bioware's full potential? Or if they really focus on this game what happens to Dragon Age 4?

Also after the fans have been overwhelmingly supportive of Bioware for years and years buying your games and people turned out in strong numbers to support DA:I why are they even talking to us about spin offs?

People got hyped for Inquisition, many of us felt like it was a step back towards what we loved about Dragon Age. Why not just focus on making DA4 even better?

Yes, I think they should first focus on DA4 and after that is released then maybe consider this tactical game again.

No.

How do you figure that? By this point the staff have all been reassigned to other projects, likely including DA4 itself. Deciding to do more DLC means blowing up the schedules for those projects. They could contract it out, but AFAIK Obsidian's busy.

And even if they decided to do this today, by the time it landed, it wouldn't sell. Too many players will have moved on.

Glad you asked. BioWare invested a lot of time and money into developing the Frostbite 4 engine to accommodate Dragon Age's RPG play style. It would be a waste not to continue using this engine to make more content.

It would also be easy to do with a small crew. The modeling and mapping tools are all there. It's just a matter of making new levels. They could even bring in new people for that, provided their previous work is solid.

This can also be a way to continue the (ex)Inquisitor's story after losing the arm. Bringing him back would clear some of the work necessary for the next game if the (ex)Inquisitor is implemented as playable (or even as an NPC).

Also, if the Hero and Champion return in the next game, featuring a DLC with their adventures would be a good way for players to create them in the custom character creator, and then save their data to import into the next game automatically.

It will sell if the price is right. I think people would rather play a new adventure than buy a comic book. I got Jaws of Hakkon at $12 through the Origin store. I consider that a steal for how much content was in that DLC.

I voted yes. But after putting some thoughts, i think i should have voted for PC only. honestly, the 8 abilities restriction limit in DAI really had me furious. I have quite a number of skillpoints unused and unlocking it on spells that i cannot use during combat is seriously annoying.

What does that have to do with PC? I was similarly frustrated on console.

My only question is is this going to distract from the next DA game, either time wise or scale? if the answer is no then go for it. I'll probably play as I'm all over anything Dragon Age.
