Speak for yourself!

Let me get this straight. You modded the game, you forgot you modded it, and this is... the game's fault?

Pretty ironic given the thread title, no doubt.

Now my post has an entirely unintended layer of irony. I prefer my irony to be intentional. I suppose I could have read the OP, instead of just responding to the title, but I have no regrets.

Speaking as someone who hasn't played these kinds of games in a LONG time, I like to know the difference between the "reload gun" and "throw grenade" buttons/keys without it being a trial-and-error affair. Just saying, the inputs for these can vary from game to game.

Personally I vote for not bringing those mechanics over to Andromeda, as implementing them in the first place seems like a pretty poor design decision. Or at the very least, tone down the RNG on them.

This is why I miss game manuals, most games don't have them anymore. I use to read those before playing any game then I could ignore the tutorials.

Oh yes, the times when manuals were thick and rich with not only information to the gameplay, but with lore, beastiaries, stories ... even today I sometimes take older manuals to .. ahem, important meetings *cough* ... nothing better to satisfy biological needs while reading some sweet nostalgia.

With modern games its mostly just a sheet of paper at best...which might have more use in those meetings in some other way, thinking about it ...

I'd love to have something like this. I suppose the problem though is with downloading only getting more common, it's probably not worth the cost to print and package that stuff. The next best thing would be to have a tutorial that's entirely separate. I'd love to have a short "training" game sequence with a nameless character with a class of our choosing so we can get a feel for the combat before the actual game begins, or perhaps something in the same vein as the Armax Arsenal Arena where you fight a simulator.
