Every point above 10 gives +0.5% damage reduction. So you will gradually get tougher and stronger.

Basically: get your constitution up. Get the superb constitution amulet (+10 constitution). Also there are rare armor parts that drop (from the shop, lollipop) which you can use for crafting - goes up to +16 constitution.

Wear HoK-Rings (heal-on-kill) and craft a HoK-compenents into your weapons, wear the belt of superb healing (+20% heal).

As smurf said already, willpower will only reduced the damage received from magic attacks.

It's worth noting that each point of constitution gives +5 health. Since heal on hit/kill is percentage-based, you benefit more from them with higher health. Same applies to guard generation amount, which is 25% of max health iirc.

I really don't know where to start with this.....

Heal on kill part is legit.

I'll let someone else crucify you for the rest.

No one ever use Healing Belts because Health Belt (+50/100/200 Maximum Health) exists. Since heal-on-kill work on percentages of your maximum health, that means Health Belts can effectively give just as much additional health gain as Healing Belts AND actually make you more durable.

Look at it this way:

If you have 1000 Health and 10% HoK the Healing Belt will boost your HoK to 12%, which is 120.

If you have 1000 Health and 10% HoK, the Health Belt will boost your Health to 1200, so your HoK becomes 120 as well.

Constitution Amulets are not very good as a choice mostly because the offensive amulets (Cooldown, Stamina, Renewal or even Threat-Management) can make you much more efficient while the +10 Constitution isn't going to let a low-level player survive that many more hits. Of course, it still gives you a tangible benefit unlike the Healing Belt.

We are talking survivability here: "How do I take less damage?", the young padawan asked. Constitution helps. If you have +16 con armor part and the +10 con amulet you looking at the equivalent of 52 promotions - which, anyone would agree, do make a difference. Not enough for a total scrub to survive nm, but survivability is increased.

Re. healing belts: use them in conjuction with boosted constitution. NM is still likely to be out of reach, but try perilious with it.

Re. the other point you make re. coolodown/stamina/renewal: you are talking dps increase, while I'm talking health/guard increase and melee-dmg mitigation.

Re. amulet of accord - that surely helps to reduce threat-level., but relies on threat-generating classes in the group, of which there may be none. Try playing a low stats archer using archer's lance in NM grouped with assassins etc.

The only real way will be to promote, as many others have stated before me, so no point reiterating. Play perilious and stop free-riding.
