Here we go again...

1.) Why did you romance Jacob TC? You said, "He had the personality of a Cardboard Box" ie None. This means you didn't like him from the start, but you romanced him because you said, "Infidelity." Which brings us back to why you romanced him in ME2, only conclusion is you chose him because either A.) He's black or Human, or B.) He's HOT. B, means your superficial in which case you have no right to be judging him and calling him on his leaving you.

2.) People need to get off this high horse when it comes to Jacob's new romance in ME3. The writers didn't make Jacob a continuing romance because you people didn't like him in the first place. Before ME3 came out you could search any poll on the web for least liked romance and you'd find Jacob's in ME2 as the highest one, least liked crewmate even outside of romance was still Jacob, BioWare has shown they PAY ATTENTION to these things. So rather than just kill Jacob to explain why he wasn't a continual romance they opted to just make him be involved with someone else, so now that people can legitimately cry foul against the guy they go out of their way to get involved with him so they can cry about it being a flaw in his character.

This is just one more reason why I wish they didn't introduce Jacob at all. He was a perfectly fine representation of NOT BEING THAT BLACK GUY STEREOTYPE! ie Angry Black Guy, Career Criminal, Steve Urkel. I'm not mentioning sexual orientation because that could be applied to any of the three aforementioned stereotypes, and in all honesty should be the smallest unnoticable part of a person's character, (Traynor was a good example of how to do it right.)

It's really freaking sad because Jacob is the only character in ME who was given a option to get away from Shepard, but because of that it also turned into his only real flaw against his previous presented good guy character. Shepard though can romance everyone on the ship start a new relationship each game, and no one will call him out on his or her BS on the forums but Jacob, he does it and BAM he's worst than the reapers. Who people will actually defend, but almost everyone will unanimously agree Jacob is a scumbag.

If Jacob was Jacqueline I bet this wouldn't even be as big an issue.

You're making a lot of assumptions here. I could assume that OP romanced him in ME2, found his personality lacking but didn't want to have to create a whole new play through to import into ME3, or else hoped that his imported romance would improve in ME3.

And because someone finds a person attractive, they're automatically shallow and deserve to be cheated on? People only deserve fidelity if they're not physically attracted to their partner?

The issue is also that Jacob cheated on Shep while she was incarcerated, over the course of six months, not that he dumped her. It doesn't matter if he's human or not, or what race he is, that's pretty crappy treatment of a partner. Bioware could have easily come up with another reason he was no longer available as a LI without making him cheat on Shep. It feels like they were sore that he was so unpopular and "got back" at complaints by character assassinating him. Kind of like the Extended Cut DLC with the "Refuse" option being a middle finger to the haters.

Historically that has not gone well.
