Some people are actually worried that content created before the initial release of Andromeda will be cut and repackaged as DLC. As I see it, if EA does this tactic, shame on them. However, DLC should be optional, and should have a cost. Any content created after the release of the game should be counted as DLC, as it was not apart of the original game. $60 should get you access to a complete game. [insert cost of DLC] should get you access to new content not available at release.

There will also be a series of missions that never got finished in time but probably belonged in the game.
Funny how that works out.
MP DLC packs will have a price tag this time around as well and there will be a 'best guns and new powers' DLC pack.
How do I know all of this now? I don't. But the chances of me being right about at least 75% of what I just said are pretty damn high.

I remember shale, Bioware. First in, then taken out last minute to reappear as dlc. Its not like they do not have a suspicious history . I never buy any dlc now from BW. Even though I bought the Season pass from Fallout 4 last year based on trusting the developer (they screwed the pooch on horse armour for TES, but learned from that mistake, unlike some)

Hey, if Bioware was a SEGA-Company we might get the main-badguys into the game proper only if we pre-purchase! So don't complain yet!

I would be happy with the DA:I template for DLC. Yeah it did have its issues, but provided a decent amount of content. The price was abit to high, and the armour packs should have been free or to a reduced price aswell.

So long as the DLCs themselves aren't anything like DAI since JoH and Descent were both awful except for the last bosses of Jaws and Descent's visuals & soundtrack. (Unfortunately none of those made them really worthwhile though) Trespasser was pretty good, but was no Citadel.

True, it was better! Pew pew!

Ya because EA is the only company that does this........
Plus considering that DLC for Inquisition wasn't started until the game was released I don't think we have much to worry about.

If there is a Day One DLC Companion like Javik, which has evidence throughout the game as having been there prior to it's becoming DLC i.e. when you take Javik with you onto Thessia, then I will be really pissed off.

I can't see them doing that anymore. With DA:I they came out and said no Day 1 DLC and no DLC companions so I have a feeling this will be the same for ME:A.

For me I don't worry about DLC usually until I'vre played the game once or twice through first anyway. But if I find myself thoroughly enjoying the game then I'll buy it because I know there'sa good chance I'll enjoy the DLC as well. That's how I judge it.

I did a search on Day 1 DLC and frankly it is rather worrying. I found a lot of backlash articles and threads from 2013-2014 and before.
But articles in 2015 to now I see this phrase a lot: "I'm okay with Day 1 DLC"
I have seen that a lot with some people defending Day 1 DLC and a lot of rather even argument.
However it is quite clear that people are beginning to be more accepting of Day 1 DLC.

I don't mind buying DLC's, as long as they are good and that does not add features that should have been already included in the game.

It's gotten to the point where I simply don't have the time to dive into every decent game that comes out. So if I have to pay full price for a game and it has DLC (Day 1 or otherwise) whatever. By the time I get to the next game it will $15 used, and the next one will already be a game of the year version with all the DLC included (what I'm doing with DA:I).
It all works itself out.

Ok and?
Thats what they did every time. Cut content re-purposed, otherwise youll be wondering why the game has files on a piece of content that never sees the light of day.
From a business standpoint it kind of makes sense in that way, you are not wasting content. From a marketing standpoint its a tough sell because people always assume it's cut from the game to gouge customers.
The truth is always a bit different of course, but it is a fine balance that companies need to figure out since the price hike for games is not going to happen anytime soon.

I think it has gotten to the point that people are looking for reasons to be upset at a game for the arguments I see most of the time is that it is either "that DLC was horrible content" or "that DLC was cut from the game" very rarely do I see anything positive seen about DLC regardless if it can be proven if it had any links to content that was from development time.

Well, considering BioWares personal track record, almost all of the characters released as DLC squadmates were cut characters to begin with, as in cut and not planned on being recruitable.
Shale comes to minds as an example, day one DLC that was repurposed at the last minute by literally shrinking Shale down so she can fit through doorways. Outside of camp discussions and the Deep Roads though she has very little to say, and even had her origins moved from Redcliffe to Honnleath when it was too late to re-implement her.
Zaeed and Kasumi were cut characters who had DLC built around them, and it shows when it comes to their dialogue trees, or lack thereof. Sebastian as well is absent from 1/3 of the game, which likely means they didn't finish adding all of his stuff into Dragon Age II, and considering it had an 18 month development cycle I guess i'm not surprised.
Most of this is either confirmed by the devs, in the case of Shale and Kasumi, or inferred by basically looking at it from a design/business perspective, Zaeed and Sebastian. Javik is a bit unique because he was originally a major player, but his role in the story changed when BioWare changed the script. From what I always gathered he was going to be cut completely before he was repurposed, sadly we will never know the truth in that regard but I highly doubt BioWare was looking to gouge their fanbase by making him a DLC bonus.

Without DLC Shale would have been simply cut. Would that have been better?

Fun fact: when Shale was in Honnleath, apparently Bella liked to lie in Shale's shadow "while coupling with others of its kind." Dunno if that really means sex, though, since Shale is so squicked out by fleshy stuff.
