How much revenue do you think ME: A will generate?  Do you think money will be dumped into DLC, The new IP, or into future ME games?

We all know ME1 was an Xbox exclusive for a while.  Do you think PS4 will get something extra with its much larger install base?

I don't know if this game is coming to Wii U?  According to this report there are almost 10 million Wii U owners.

ps4vsxboxonevswiiundashtotal-january2015

Here’s how lifetime sales break down for each console — and don’t forget, the Wii U was released in November 2012, a year before the PS4 and Xbox One:

PlayStation 4 Total Sales: 19,052,353

Xbox One Total Sales: 11,298,462

Wii U Total Sales: 9,137,844

I doubt very much that this game is coming out for Wii U. I couldn't say if the Wii U would even be able to run the game, but it's a fair bet that the overall game size would make the Wii's 32GB capacity seem mighty small.

For one, that chart is WAY out of date. PS4 has apparently sold about 30 million units now. X1 has sold around 19 million units. Wii U isn't even worth mentioning as it wouldn't be able to run the game anyways and EA doesn't support that platform.

Given EA has a better relationship with Microsoft, X1 is far more likely to get exclusive content over the PS4. With EA Access, X1 owners will get access to the game earlier than PS4 owners. EA Access just recently came to PC known as "Origin Access," so even PC owners will get MEA before PS4 owners.

The Mass Effect trilogy didn't sell that well on PS3. ME1 wasn't available for the longest time and it's difficult to convince gamers to jump into sequels. Not to mention, PS3 was more of a Japanese-centric console whereas X360 favored Western-style games.

Clearly, this isn't as much the case now with PS4 having the clear lead in console sales. However, it's anyone's guess how well Mass Effect will sell on the PS4. It has always performed better on Microsoft consoles, so perhaps that could change with MEA.

I didn't know it was so out of date.  I just happened to see that recent article as a link on N4G.  Kind of dirty EA doesn't support Wii, but at the same time I do understand why.

"difficult to convince gamers to jump into sequels"  You are absolutely right.  Even I am like that.  I jumped on ME2 because I had played ME1 at my cousin's house, but pretty much EVERYONE gets on their knees for Witcher 3.  I think they have it so hyped at this point for people that have never played it that it can't reach the expectation off of the buzz people have created for it, but I just have no desire to play it.  If they had an edition with Witcher 1 and 2 included?  I might be interested then, but for me to just go buy and start on Witcher 3?  I couldn't care less.  I may get it one day in future as an Ultimate Edtion for 20 bucks or something, but I have no interest starting a series on its third installment.

For day one sales? I think since its only going to be a next-gen game(not WII U imo) I think day one sales will be close to 1-1.2 million copies sold which is like 60-72mil.  Overall I think the total sales will be close to 4-5 mil, which looking at VG Charts for Dragon Age: Inquistion (which can be totally out of date, so forgive me) has sold just over 4.5mil worldwide (2.6 mil on next gen). 4 -5 million copies would equal to around 240mil to 300 mil.

Mass Effect 3 generated 200mil after 2 months sold, which is pretty decent so I think the 240-300 mil prediction is a good guess.

Now I can be totally wrong and maybe it will sell 10mil copies(I hope) but we'll never know until its shipped.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a great game. That being said, I'm a PC gamer, and I've played TW1 (only on PC) as well as TW2 (PC only until it came to X360 a year later). While you will certainly enjoy TW3 without playing the first two, it's not going to make very much sense. You also won't know any of the characters, and there are a lot. It's the equivalent of jumping into ME3 without playing ME1 and ME2. It would be great if TW1 and TW2 could come to current gen consoles, but I don't see it happening. If I were you, I'd pick them up on PC. Especially on GOG (owned by CDPR, who makes TW games), TW1 and TW2 are usually $5 each half the year.

MEA will be a failure if it's only selling one million copies in its first day. Fallout 4 sold about 12 million by the end of its first week, if I remember. Assuming marketing is great and anticipation is high, the game should be able to easily shatter any record of previous Mass Effect games. Dragon Age Inquisition might be hard to beat just because it was available on five platforms, where MEA will only be on three platforms.

If the game is good, receives good reviews, and generally has a positive perception, it should sell like hotcakes. It's easily one of the most anticipated titles of the year. Most of the heavy hitters came out in 2015, so MEA has plenty of space to just dominate.

I reckon they'll make a lot of money, yeah. It's Mass Effect. However, it's also BioWare. Judging by fan reactions, I would assume a large percentage of players will hold off on picking up ME:A, after what became of Inquisition. That would affect their pre-orders, day one sales and possibly first week sales as well. I expect to see a not so favourable launch, but eventually, it'll make them a lot of money.

This will be the only reason MEA may suffer with initial sales. Some people still haven't recovered from the fallout that was ME3's ending...

Some people also can't distinguish between the different BioWare teams. They'd just see BioWare. I would say ME:A could suffer for Inquisitions faults as well as ME3's ending.

This.

And PS4 is kicking the crap out of everything else out there, they'd be the console you'd go out of your way to accommodate if you were smart.

i think it is too early to speculate how the game will sell when we have zero information on it. We have what two trailers? We have no game play footage nothing to make an informed decision on the game with.

Current gen consoles only?

Also, for the future, when will Xbox run Windows 10?

I can see a day when Microsoft, and, gasp, creative director Casey Hudson, release games that work on win10, and nothing else.

Games that will work across devices that run win10.

Forbes is already projecting, this article from last fall, projecting PC revenues to surpass console in 2016.

It's pains me to say this, but... Casey Hudson left BioWare a while ago.

Yes, as my post indicates, he is now at Microsoft.

As the "creative director".

Oh. That's what you meant? You didn't articulate that very well, considering Casey was the Creative Director at BioWare Edmonton as well. Either way, as the person above already stated, Xbox One already runs on Windows 10. All of their future exclusives are going to have Windows 10 PC ports as well. Quantum Break is first. Fable: Legends is coming at some point. Halo 5: Guardians is rumored to be coming to Windows 10 PC. Microsoft has major plans for PC.
