Physically for me Cass just...

a hot KISA type. Along with her no-nonsense pragmatic attitude to situations, dat hot temper, she's passionate about what she believes in be it her faith or her profession and her uber cute romantic gooey center underneath all that brassiness. Ugh, yes, my Inquisy's pined after her, alot.

I like Sera, I do, she provided many lols on the journey but I'd drop her for Cass in a heartbeat, if I was given the choice.

I just really like Sera's personality. She looks okay, but she is just so wild, over the top, and too fun to ignore. I would totally trade you if DAI was like the Pokemon Trading Card Game.

It would have been cool if it was like this though:

Straight: Cassandra, Iron Bull

Bi: Cullen, Sera

Gay: Blackwall, Josephine

I think that probably would have made more sense, given Blackwall is a phony anyways, and Josephine comes across as a Lesbian to me. I'm not sure about Iron Bull, but I could probably see Cullen being bi based on the experiences he went through in all three games, and Sera definitely seems bi.

Josephine is the best romance Bioware has made to date.

Perhaps, but she just wasn't my type. She was a little too prissy perfect, innocent Disney princess.

I like women who seem down to Earth, real, even have flaws that further define them. I liked Miranda a lot, not because of her "ass"ets (that booty though), but rather because she was actually incredibly insecure on the inside, yet very strong and independent also.

I guess it's fair to say I like a bit of a challenge and some adventure. I like someone who is interesting and thus going to keep me engaged with who they are. Josephine was just boring to me.

Oh, you mean it's better to play 2 whole games without any gay LI? Developers making excuses for why there are lesbian relationships, then when it finally happens, one of the LI is basically a copy and paste with scenes cutting out and avoid all intimate actions while another option is an NPC with angst about a dead husband the entire time? I should be so appreciated to have to play 2 games without any relationship just to get 2 inferior versions in the last game.

Kaidan is a nice guy, and that's his personality, not everyone needs to have daddy issue like 3/4 of the companions to be interesting. Some people just want a relationship to be fluffy and romantic like with Cullen, Kaidan, or Alistair.

The talking was about angsty. Gay romances have never been as angsty as any of the straight ones.
I've just make notice that all the angsty romances are males. I was basically agreeing that there seem to be a cospyracy about male LIs, with stronger angst towards the straight ones.

I had never Said anything about the fact that gay were mistreated in romance departmant. I was Always to have equal options. And everyone can have their opinion: Mine is that Kaidan was quite boring as a character if you don't romance him, and that I didn't Like His romance. Is an opinion Like any other.

Some may Like the usual normal guy as romance. I don't. Not anymore. Basically because is not normal: Characters Like Kaidan have no defect, no bad aspect in their personality. Are irreal, not normal. The romance is good per se, but the character itself is bland.

That's missing best LI's in the game. Dorian and Solas.

He was focusing on sexuality he was going to alter for specific companions. Besides Cassandra, everybody else on that list had their sexuality changed.

Maybe I'm just easy to please, but on the whole I've liked most of the romances so far, in all the games. The only ones I wasn't keen on were Iron Bull, Anders, Sebastian, Thane and Jacob. Not bad out of the dozens available!

Though I certainly wouldn't have complained about more options. Like romancing Joker. Or Cass/Ashley/Jack/Tali/Miranda with a woman. I've tried it with a male for the experience though.

for my contribution

Does anyone know if she still works for BW? I hope by some miracle she comes back for MEA because after the craptastic human male LIs for DAI it would be nice to have somebody who knows what they're doing.- Plus the fact I can't shake the feeling that these male writers can't seem to help themselves injecting angst and drama into their male LIs. It would be nice to have something sweet and normal again.

I kinda think sweet and normal just isn't bioware's style with romance, regardless of gender and/or orientation.

Pretty much every romance in both DA and ME is angst filled, often rocky with loads of DRAMA. I think really Kaiden is the exception to this rule.

That's a first, wanting to trade Sera for Cass, alot of people couldn't stand Sera. Eh, I found her a mix bag tbh. She made me chuckle on a few occasions and the romance had some sweet/fluffy moments but she also really irritated me alot of the time. Needed a shut-up Sera interrupt, I was an elf, it was problematic. :P

Sera is hard to stomach for a lot of people. I disliked her at first glance but she won me over when i meta gamed my character, I was curious how the writers would handle uncompanionable orientations so just pick the romance options even though i didn't "fancy" her at all. Her rejection was brilliant. I was able to appreciate Sera and she has one of the best Brorances in the game. They did a really good job of writing the male Inky and Sera friendship arc. I wouldn't trade Cass for Sera myself but I entered the game hating both Cole and Sera for different reasons (or I just hate blonds with bad haircuts might be unconscious goth bias at work) but found the handling of them in game enough to change my opinion, I think they are both well written characters.

I can't speak for anyone else, but heck yeah I'd prefer Sera to be straight and Cassandra to be lesbian. I like your line of thinking though. Josephine really comes across more of a lesbian option than a bisexual option anyways. I really think Sera's personality fits quite well with being bisexual.

Are you listening BioWare??? Make it so!!! Captain Picard demands it!!!!

You again! XD

Seriously, I was telling me the exact same thing yesterday .... Currently playing DAI, just saw the part when Cassandra reads varric's romances. I laughed so hard. I'm not fond of the LI on DAI, I don't even know if I will pick one (Iron bull ? not even sure) and I was thinking I would love my character to be with Cassandra. I never tried a lesbian romance but for her, I think I would. Too bad. And my other fav character is Dorian... gay. And also Varric. Not romancable.

XD bad luck.

About Kaidan, I don't appreciate him but it seems many people do, so I don't see any problem to have his writter on the team, as long as there are other writters who work on different characters. We need a world for everybody  <3

60% percent of the time I leave Kaidan with the bomb everytime.

Except that one time I didn't, I should know better.

I think there is a difference between not having any flaws and the PC just not knowing or dealing with those flaws first hand. When we meet Kaidan it's at a time when he had resolved most of his past issues.  If you read the comic, you find out that he didn't care at all about murdering his teacher and everyone at his school was scared of him.   But that's something he deals with on his own before the start of ME1.  The only current issue the PC deals with concerning Kaidan is his stubborn attitude about Cerberus and his high and mighty moral standards.  But yeah I get why he wouldn't appeal to most people in a crew full of alien Batmen, insecure women, and a failed shadowbroker.  To me, Kaidan was a breath of fresh air. An adult who isn't trying to impress me with how cool he is while needing me to fix whatever mess he couldn't clean up himself. *cough Garrus *cough*

I know how you feel! I wasn't into Cass and I don't much care for Josie either! I love Leliana but she isn't romanceable and is already with my HoF, wherever he is. I liked Vivenne, but she apparently doesn't like anyone except old men. Sera was awesome, but I was rejected! :crying:

Yeah. DAI was not a good role of the dice for romances.

I think the only reason Kaidan might get hate is because it's the same voice actor who voiced Carth, who everybody hates! I thought Kaidan was okay. Kind of boring, but eh maybe someone is into that.

Not giving such information about the background of a character is not very good writing, in my opinion. And little attention at the character the fact that if so importont to the (previous) evolution of said character never came out in the game. I never read the comics, why should I have known that to understand a character in a videogame I have to read a comic? Is something that BioWare do, and is not good.

For how Kaidan talk in ME1, he seem to want the pity of the player: look, I'm an unlucky biotic guy with migranies and a sad childhood.  yeah... something else? Nothing? That was what made the character uninteresting to me. All talk and no action.

There have been characters with a past who modelled them, and yet was important because that past came back, even if it already had changed them before. Thane had already made his vengeance path. His problem was a consequence of said past, but him had already been changed by it, and didn't need Shep "help" for that. Same for Blackwall. He had already had his evolution before meeting the protagonist. He had to have a confrontation with the result of said past.

Kaidan is the kind of character that for some people is fun, but not for me. I much prefer "space batman", as you said. Characters with a visible evolutions, and not static.
