So Bioware, was your family killed by SD TVs or something?

Maybe you could've spent a little less time making a gigantic DLC scavenger hunt and a little more time making the game playable for everyone. Im sure its probably been said to death, but text is completely unreadable on SD TVs.

I am enjoying the game (about as much as I can) but is this a sign showing how you plan on treating your customers in the future?  Considering how much I've enjoyed your past games, this is really disappointing.

I have an HDTV and even I noticed how tiny the text is in this game compared to ME1. The area at the top when you cursor over something is especially tiny, almost to the point where it's unreadable from 5 feet away on a 32" TV. Kinda ridiculous.

HD here and the text is fine. OP, stop living in the stone age. HDTV's aren't that expensive. If you can afford a current gen console i'm sure you can afford a nice 26" HDTV for the same price.

in this day and age... who doesn't have some sort of HDTV/or widescreen computer monitor? HDTV's are dirt cheap.

do you blame other companies for not making games that are compatible with Windows 95?

The text is small, but oddly it's getting easier for me to read. Is this a good thing or a bad thing...?

Depends, if your brain is simply filling in the blanks its fine but if you look at something else and your eyes hurt you might want to stop.

I just had to reply to tell you that your thread title made me laugh. That's a funny way of putting it. :)

Thankfully I play on an HDTV (and a 42" one, so the text is readable), but I did notice that text is a bit smaller in ME2 than it was in ME1. That's unfortunate that it's so hard to read on an SDTV.

I have a HD TV and I can barely read the text! My couch is at a reasonable distance, and I'm not willing to be 2 feet away from the TV just to read stuff on the screen. I'm not going to ruin my eyes like that.

That is a horrible analogy. Operating system does not equal a certain screen resolution, idiot.

Hey I'm still in school, have basically no income, and my parents refuse to let me play xbox on the HDTV. So everyone that says its my fault for not having one can shut up.

I agree about the small text. If you have to sit within 4-5 feet of your TV screen just to read the text, it's too small. It's actually not very healthy to sit that close for extended periods of time, which always ends up happening when you get absorbed in a game. The font size was really intended to be read by people using a computer monitor where you sit much closer, and some consideration should have been given to console users. Perhaps the reason Bioware is so ignorant regarding this problem is they test all their games on big screen TV's/monitors.

Dragon's Age is also pretty bad, but the text is a bit bigger.  Still I have to read all the codex entries on my laptop, it's too much eyestrain to try and read them in game, which negatively impacts on the experience. At least a lot of Codex entries in Mass2 have audio.

Most of us don't own 52" HD TV's, so why is there no option to change the font size in game?

I have an HDTV, however it only has one set of HD plugs and they are taken by my DVR. Granted, even when I put my 360 on HD I still couldn't read the text. It's much smaller than ME1, and it seems less care was put into making sure it's readable against busy backgrounds. When there is text over Miranda's white outfit, for example, I have to guess and hope I don't say something wrong.

You really can't blame BioWare for this. It's 2010, the 360 has been out for 5 years. Get an HDTV already.

Normally I don't stick my neck out for other ppl in a forum, but I know what it feels like to now be able to afford the "solutions" that 90% of the guys on places like this offer, so stop telling him to buy a HDTV.

Yeah, I noticed this as well in a number of dialogues (only a couple hours into the game), where the text gets blurred out by various background colors to the point where it is unreadable at any distance.

We're blaming Bioware for either not testing for SD screens (Which Im guessing most people still use for playing games) or for just not caring. So either they were sloppy or they are purposefully trying to shoot them selves in the foot and alienate a major chunk of their customer base.

Not really actually, I bought my xbox 360 back in 2005 when it came out and back then I had way more money than I have now. A year and a half ago I had my house get foreclosed and the last financial thought I'm having is an HDTV. I dont have even $200 to spare right now.

I don't blame them for not caring or testing. Its 2010, and as cheesy as that sounds these are HD consoles and games are developed in HD. At this point SD screens have no priority. If you can spend 300$ for a xbox setup, you can for sure as hell afford a HDTV.
