I assume we'll have a bunch of new races since it's a new Galaxy. I find it hard to believe that a totally different galaxy wont have any life form at all. Unless obviously life there isn't that advanced as in MW, but that would be kinda boring and a bit counter productive. I guess there wont be a craptacular amount of new races (at least not at first) simply because I doubt they'll create so many different alien looking species in the first game (like it happened in ME1).

Probably in upcoming games (assuming they'll take place in Andromeda) they'll add more races just like it happened in ME2 with the addition of Drell and Vorcha.

 

On a side note, I'm glad to find someone else who also likes Batarians. I would totally support the idea of a Batarian squadmate for the game ^^

Hopefully though, BioWare does add a healthy mix of new races, both sexy men and women.

Whatever kind of new species we run into, or how many, I hope there are moments of genuine cultural misunderstanding. Even as we have among humans where a benign hand gesture in one culture may be considered offensive, or antagonistic, in another culture.

 

Very different ways of of interpreting what is acceptable behavior and cultural mores. So, even if the new species is not visually way out there, at least you will get the feeling of interacting with a very different culture, and species.

A plant race!
We need more nature =)

there's a manga where mother nature pretty much said "**** this imma kill me some humans" and trees become giant monstrosities like the kaijuu from Pacific rim. There's actually quite a few anime and manga even a few manhua(Korean manga) with these types of plants becoming sentient and wrecking **** up.

I would love to see some plant like species, perhaps some spriggens? Hmmmm the species would need to be badass, can't have them being weak. Not reaper level but up there, a living sentient planet would work.

I can see it now, we visit a non space farring species that speak in clicks and taps. We go "tap clicking tappy tap?" which ends up meaning something like "I've come to rape your churches and burn your women.". Suddenly we're at war with the tonguey click clicks.
