The thing that I hated about the tarot card system was that it was either a two sentence blurb or a full page.  There was no in between.

You mean the codex? The codex is a mess, but at least the art is beautiful. I'm hoping that MEA treats it more like a proper computer file system.

Well this ultimately comes down to whether any of our decisions from the Mass Effect trilogy can be imported. With DAI, we had a situation in which our decisions from DAO and DAII would impact the actual game. I don't believe the same can be said for Andromeda, since we'll be light years removed from the exploits of Shepard. With that in mind, I think BioWare is starting fresh and we'll barely have any references to the original trilogy.

It may be for the better, otherwise we'd have this:

"Did you choose Synthesis AND/OR romance Liara?"

*selects "no" for each*

"CRITICAL MISSION FAILURE: PLEASE REPLAY ME3 AND TRY AGAIN"

No, I mean the tarot cards on the loading screens.

The bugs with the keep were hilarious! BioWare eventually ironed all of those out though, I think. You'd have to be some kind of masochist to romance Liara AND choose synthesis...

I would much rather have a save import mechanic like the Dragon Age Keep for Mass Effect than it being completely disconnected from the past games.

Oh yeah that. I never really saw the point of that. They should've just kept basic game tip stuff there.

I would love that as well, just for the sense that my previous choices in ME1-3 had some purpose. However, I think BioWare is intentionally starting fresh to avoid ME3's ending as well as not alienating newcomers who may not have played the original trilogy or all of the games. At the very least, a Keep feature would also allow them to make choices, even if they did not experience them in those games.
