Your walls of text are disturbing.

A highly moddable turd is still a turd, nonetheless. BGS games are no more interactive than they were 14 years ago, so I fail to see your point. BGS is also one of the most successful developers in the industry, so claiming they don't have the budget to create an entirely new engine is laughable.

I am a PC gamer, for the record. I was merely making the point that Fallout 4 was getting panned on consoles because the engine is a piece of crap and BGS can barely maintain a playable frame rate. TW3 certainly wasn't perfect at launch, but I seriously doubt it was below 30 fps as often as it was on Fallout 4 at release. BGS always releases buggy games at launch. It's their reputation.

You must have the worst luck ever. I never had any issues with AI in TW3. Certainly, even if I did, nothing would compare to to how many times NPCs get stuck, broken, etc. in a BGS game. Radiant AI has been an absolute disaster since it was implemented in Oblivion. Considering you are just making blatant statements without any evidence to support your claim, yeah I just figure you are a Fallout 4 fanboy at this point.

It's ironic, because BGS is actually my favorite developer and Morrowind is my favorite game of all time. Yet, here I am criticizing BGS for using the same engine for the past 14 years and you are defending them for their sins. Very nice.

What you are saying isn't even intelligible anymore. It's just rambling and nonsense. TW3 was GotY and won far more awards than FO4. It was much deserved too, as FO4 was barely an upgrade from F03 (better gun play, settlements, better crafting, voiced protagonist).

Anyways, this discussion is pointless since you are just a raving fanboy and can't be reasoned. I want BGS to learn from CDPR and not fall into mediocrity because diehard fans can't tell when a crap engine is crap.

Back on topic... I agree! BioWare should try to do better DLC than $15 for crap content like in DAI.

LOL im a fanboy when u are a CD project fanboy dude.

First if u know a little about making a new engine it doesnt meter the the company have the money to make it budge vs revenue is all that meter at the end. And BSG show that even if U dont like the creation engine the game sell millions using as u say the same engine, when clearly isnt the same engine, is like saying Unreal 3 is the same as Unreal 4.

Plus u point something that isnt true about Witcher bc they downgrade the game so it was stable on consoles and PC. So plz dont come and tell me i dont know **** when u clearly dont know either.

I dont know here u go rage about GOTY award when i didnt say anything i just saying u can prize all what u want to Witcher 3 when really didnt bring anything new to the table of RPG game, Witcher 3 is a drive story adventure game with RPG elements.

And plz u come and give me a lecture about AI when there is a single game out there that have a good or at least decent AI system. If im unlucky playing Witcher 3 u are unlucky playing Fallout 4.

Is simple tell me what ever u want, i know how good or bad Fallout 4 is, i know isnt a perfect game but isnt a turd either. But saying that other companies need to learn about a "success" of CD project, that really wasnt that BIG. Is just plain nonsense. Bioware or BSG know really well how to make their own game and how to keep fan on their games. Witcher 3 was a good game but the fanbase is small (and toxic as hell as u probing by saying other companies need to learn from they) bc alot of ppl have problem with Witcher game play.

Bioware's made some garbage dlc in the past (Darkspawn Chronicles, I'm looking at you here), but on the whole, their dlc record is pretty good (imo). I can't speak to anything released after DA:I so things may have changed, but of all the issues I've had with Bioware games, dlc quality has ranked pretty low.

Sorry; like Darkspawn Chronicles myself. But will offer Feastday Gifts as another opinionated sacrifice in it's place.

<rage rage more rage>

Lets end the nonsense, friend. I already told you Bethesda Game Studios is my favorite developer. Calm down...

I actually love Fallout 4. It's just not my favorite BGS game since it lacks innovation. I said the Creation Engine is a turd, which it is. BGS has been using that piece of junk for 14 years. While other developers have state of the art engines, such as CryEngine, Frostbite 3, even CDPR built it's own RED Engine 3 from scratch just for TW3. BGS would be better off using id Tech 6 at this point if they are too lazy to actually develop their own engine.

Anyway, I think we are all in agreement BioWare needs to do a better job with DLC. DAI was rather lackluster. ME has generally a better track record with some notable pieces of content. I just don't want to pay $15 to play a calibrations mini-game.

Witcher lacks customization. all it really is, is a story-driven action game with rpg elements.

Actually it doesn't. You can craft gear and have numerous customization options for your character like hair and beards, runes on swords, different armour pieces etc...Blood and Wine is said to offer a new feature where merchants can change the colour of your preferred armour. The only thing Witcher 3 lacks in customization is character creation but Witcher 3 was always about Geralt of Rivia not no name John/Jane.

It sounds like you're describing a story driven action game with RPG elements.

Besides, the crafting in TW3 is more restrictive and less customizable than the crafting in DAI by a long shot. It has all of the weaknesses and none of the strengths.

Care to explain? The crafting in DAI is very similar to that of Witcher 3. I fail to see what Witcher 3 lacks in crafting.

Although I believe CD Projekt Red has one of the best, probably the best, relation with gamers and one that they earned putting stuff we like before pure profits, they are not flawless. It feels like a lot of people elected them as the Chosen One, and so look past problems in their games or in their marketing.

The stuff they did with The Witcher 3 DLC for me was pure "evil marketing". They basically released a bunch of trinkets that might have been in the game in the first place for free and called them DLC. Stuff that many developers give for free too. And intead of calling their true DLC that, they called them expansions, like they were doing something others developer do not. Which isn't true. As good as TW3 DLC is, there are other out there just as good. There is a name for this I believe. Pretending the same thing is something else by calling it a different name.

You utilize it to craft upgradeable witcher gear starting at level 11, and that's pretty much it. The gear end-game is 4 (now 5, I guess) different sets, at least two of which are silly looking, that massively outclass almost anything else you can craft, and nearly everything you can loot. The rest of the gear is mostly useless. This is ameliorated somewhat in HoS, but that just makes the shortcoming in the main game more noticeable.

DAI has the same problem with crafting egregiously outclassing found gear, but at least there's a much greater variety of gear and looks available, considering the variety of different materials and the tinting table. The tiered mats ensure that low level schematics are still viable at high levels, and the way the stats are tied to different materials allows quite a lot of freedom in customizing your gear to a specific build or character.

Tinting in TW3 would be nice, but that reference is from the now debunked reddit leak. Even if they did implement something similar, it still wouldn't offer the flexibility of DAI's system.

They're both bad systems, but DAI's is marginally better.

Crafting in itself is the bane of modern RPGs in my book ... geez, I loved in Witcher 1 when you EARN the damn Silver Sword from the Lady of the Lake ... in TW3 you get thrown stuff after you like in wholesale, always a little better in stats maybe, but still not memorable. Or you craft some Witcher gear after very much like the shard-quests you run around the countryside hoping to find the pieces - and then of course find the superior/master-versions ...And DAI is almost the same in that regard, though I deem it not that bad, but still wholly unnecessary...

I wish they'd scrap crafting in RPG-games and give us loot back with a history to it, earned through blood and sweat and tears, not made like medieval McGyver by putting together some random criap found along the way...

Rant over - continue all with praising Witcher/damning DAI, or the other way around...just as you feel ^^

Well since Bethesda is making DLC that focuses almost entirely on crafting for Fallout 4......

BioWare's DLC policy is odd because it has two sides to it.

On the one hand, they make excellent DLCs (at least for the ME games). LotSB and Citadel are probably just a bout the best DLCs I have played and they really enrich the games. But also others like BdtS, Leviathan, Overlord, Kasumi and even Omega are great when you look at what they add to the games. While I do have some issues with Arrival, even that is ultimately a great new mission. Not only do they try and tell interesting new stories but more often than not, they add new gameplay mechanics that were never seen before in the main game. So yes, I think BW makes great DLCs.

On the other hand though, their pricing can be high and some of the DLC they made are atrocious because of the way they handle important story elements and basically force the players to buy it. While ME's DLCs are great, I know hardly a game series that had as many scandals with their DLCs. First Day, clearly cut out content, story relevant content, it's all been done. The low point was the ME Trilogy Edition, which didn't include the DLCs and since prices for them didn't drop, the missing (and important) DLCs cost more than the actual bundle.

So I am all for them continuing to make great DLCs but I am also all for them rethinking their business strategies and not trying to rip off their own fans. I am happy to pay for high quality extra content but the deal needs to be fair at least.

I don't know if I can think of a single offline RPG that's better for its inclusion. Crafting skills are fun when they're cooperative and part of an actual economy, but in games like this, they're just ham-handed and difficult to balance.

I don't mind it when it's highly specialized and tied into the story, a la Wade and Herren crafting dragon junk. But I could really do without the fleshed out system otherwise - especially if it means we get terrible RNG loot, to boot..

Even with Herren the "crafting" still required one to kill a dragon after all - and you used the soils of that specific victory to have an armour created for you. And like Baldurs Gate with finding the pieces of Crom Fayer and stuff - it felt more like an achievment and reward, not like Tim Taylor threw some pieces together for you...

The problem is this MMO-influence, I see it that way. Look at Witcher 3 and DAI and other games...Items are only defined anymore by their DPS-Value. then some random precentages are added (2% Freezing on Witcher swords, 12% flanking damage on DAI-Weapons - damn, that's sexy .. NOT!) Just makes me picture some scene in my mind...

The entire blacksmith guild held its breath when Craftenor, the oldest and most skilled of them all walked down the stairs from his workshop. Days had become weeks and months as the old master had locked himself up, smoke ever rising from the furnaces within this holy temple dedicated to the dwarven god of steel and skill. But now he had finished his last, and greatest work. Proud the bearded dwarf carried a massive and beautiful warhammer with him, and it seemed the earth trembled when he held it high into the air, as if the ancient gods themselves in the heaven below  approved of his work.

"Look", his voice boomed, "my finest work, never has the world seen its like! A hammer, worth a thousand warriors, destined to be wielded by heroes, the subject of many songs to be sung in our halls of stone!"

"What does it do?", the crowd of excited dwarfs wanted to know.

"Does it return into our hands on its own when thrown at a foe?"

"Can you fire lighting bolts with it, to vanquish our enemies?"

"Does it lend the wielder the strength of a dozen giants?"

"Will you be able to banish demons into the abyss?"

"No!!", the master replied with his booming voice. " No, if you stand behind an enemy, striking his back will enhance your damage-output by 12 percent! No less! And if a cleric cast heal on you, you will receive 15 percent more wounds healed! Not to mention the 0.5 percent chance to give him minor frostbite!"

"Well, well", the crowd replied, "there will be a hero level 10 mighty pleased with this!"

"For two levels at least", a younger dwarf mumbled silently, but everyone ignored him...

Eh, I liked HoS a lot, but actually prefered Trespasser for several reasons;

-HoS relies too much on bullshit bosses that can only be beaten with Quen + dodge spam. The toad at the beginning was just ridiculous. The Olgierd copies/ghost thingies only slightly less so.

-Cutscenes and cutscenes and cutscenes on top of moar cutscenes. Yes, cutscene are nice, but I'm not playing Metal Gear. The party with Olgierd's brother dragged on, even if a lot of the dialog was great. Trespasser had a much tigher balance.

-Trespasser tied in very well with the overarching plot of the series. HoS was a side adventure with only Shani there to add relevance to the greater plot.

-Trespasser I found to have far replayability, what with the repercussions of past choices being in full display. HoS has choices at the end of each "arc" but nothing that has any repercussions apart from the last one.

And anyway, in terms of free DLC I'd say both companies aren't that far apart to be honest. CD Projekt trumpeted their 16 free DLCs like they were God's very own gift to mankind but all save 2 (I think) quests and new game+ were very minor things that could easily have been in the base game. Between the Black Emporium, multiplayer DLC, Skyhold wardrobe and the Golden Nug, Bioware basically gave just as much, but I guess they didn't posture enough to be declared the most gamer-friendly company of the universe.

game plus really dont fix much. I mean it dont add anything for me. just a new dificulty level. That i didnt play it bc there is 0 replay value on doing the campaign again.
