Proto, are you saying despite the fact the first and second casts of elemental mines under fire flask appear vastly different in mine density, that the second mines you cast are somehow more powerful than the first?  The second time I cast mines, I probably get 1/3 the number of mines from the first cast.

 

No, I'm saying the first set cast is vastly more powerful and worth the stamina cost.

Oh yeah.. I agree it is worth the stamina cost personally.  Just takes some getting use to, especially if you start trying to use the mines as a 'get out of a jam' ability.  It actually works pretty well for this, if you throw the mines at the feet of most attackers it will finish them off.  But, if it doesn't work, you can't cast stealth or leaping attack due to lack of remaining stamina.

 

But, the cost is not JUST the stamina.. it is also the skill slot.  And I want to maximize the damage output from each slot, so an upgraded elemental mine makes sense to me in that context as well.

Which is why I decided to chime in and give my opinion on mines upgrade. Must have. 

 

As far as your thread about the Hunter and Alchemist, I prefer the Hunter. Alchemist is better for those with lower promotions and lesser gear. This is due to the alchemist having frost flask and the "I Was Never Here" passive. Lady Jacosta's Revenge in the offhand helps a ton when you're squishy.

Really pretty simple. I'm not a good alchemist player. Don't even have 100 operations complete.  :D

So, even in the video I could see that it took a bit of time to get enough stamina to go back into stealth after casting elemental mines.

 

That would actually be an advantage of the hunter.  Yeah, he doesn't have fire flask, but if you took stealth and fallback plan, you can stealth.. run in.. throw mines, and use fallback plan to go back to where you were.  Heck, you could even drop a couple spike traps before you threw the mines.

 

Makes me want to try a hunter with just spikes, elemental mines, fallback, and stealth... just for fun.

 

Not sure I like the fact the fallback plan's upgrade also pulls the closest enemy back with you though.

I've never used fallback plan's upgrade. The Hunter is awesome. I really enjoy Stealth/Elemental Mines/Spike Trap/Leaping Shot. 

 

Using Fallback plan is viable early on in the build. But skipping Leaping Shot + Pincushion would be a mistake.

Thanks for the Vid.  I am pretty sure stamina is still better for me.   I am playing on the safe side... that's why my Reaver is running around with 100% health. :P  Actually on second thought, this is why I only play silent sister for cunnings promo.... it is super safe..

 

Once I became a boss... I will upgrade elemental mines LOL :P

In most cases for hunter stealth spike mine will simply do better. 

 

Second time I have quoted this.. I did actually run hunter (only in threatening first time) with spike mine, elemental mine, fallback plan, and stealth.   The spike mine is pretty sweet with stealth.. you can drop it right at the foot of someone, stay in stealth, and watch them go sky high.

 

Need to play this in perilous at least to see what I really think of it.

 

Spike mine is also better since it requires less participation and understanding from the rest of the party I would guess.

 

Oh, and that whole cast fallback plan, cast stealth, run around dropping spike mine, then drop element mines, and then warp back is a bit choreographed for my taste, but is kinda fun.  Again, gotta try it on perilous at least and see what I think.. and then with a party as well.

Ability spam > single cast  ^_^ Always...

 

Stop playing the nerfed version, start rocking with archer  :D

 

P.S. I only just noticed this weekend that leap shot penetrates shields... Even more OP than I remembered.

Around 3 minutes.

I had 200 cunning before Silent Sister got released.

I managed to get 237 before I finally said to hell with it and finished her games in the proving grounds.

I couldn't stand not progressing my character. That's the reason I don't play rogues anymore.

I'd rather work on willpower as that at least contributes to your attack.

True.. ran one of those this morning with a friend trying to complete the routine achievement.  I think it took like 8 minutes.

If proving ground doesn't work anymore I will probably just run the weaker agents thru threatening PUGs.   The other day I saw a leaderboarder with a level 16 in threatening... I was wondering if he was doing agent challenge giving his level 16 could solo NM. :P  But then his level 16 could run thru Perilous just as fast as Threatening.. so I have no idea why he was there. :P

500,000 kill challenge is always in the forefront of my mind.

I try and knock out 3 or 4 perilous solo FC each day for a quick 1000+ kills.

A filthy casual like me is still only at 223,000 kills done....

I haven't paid any attention to that.  But, I must be extremely casual then.. since I can count my kills easily on 20,000 hands.  ( 99,500 kills currently )

You know I haven't been playing any attentions to the challenges (except for the dragons) until this week.  I was watching my score thing going up 1 points on every promotion and then one time it jumps like 3... I was going WTF. :P   Then I figured out I finished one of the challenge by accident.   I just finished NM dragon challenge last night and now I only have storm bane left for dragons.  I saw you have already done that since you are using that title! :P

 

I don't think I have ever seen any Legendary Slayer or Legendary Banker folks yet.   I think I could get Slayer in about 2 years and Banker in 5... :P
