[Sir Floopy]

A short little thing I came up with in my head when I went for my run this morning. I pictured a small unit of N7s chanting it while they rode a shuttle to the surface, during the battle to retake Earth. Normal text for the call from the commander, italics for the response from the unit. Maybe I'll use this in something larger, some day, maybe not. Let me know what you think.

Who are we?!

N Seven!

Which means we are?!

Expendable!

How do we fight?!

Like we’re already dead!

How do we die?!

With our guts spilled on the ground, weapons in our hands!

What’s a small chance?!

BETTER THAN NONE!

DAMN STRAIGHT!

Why not? Most elite and professional soldiers today have a poem verse, a motto, or some phrase they often use as motivation. For instance, US Navy SEALs have "It pays to be a winner." It's not like they'd do this in the middle of a combat zone; my mental image was them reciting it on the shuttle ride to their LZ. And how can you get any more professional than acknowledging that you're expendable?

Uhh, yeah. Neither Anderson nor Shepard was meant to be in this little scene I thought up. As I said, a shuttle of N7s. Not Shepard or their team, just the best of the regular foot soldiers. Actually, I guess the mental image I had was the shuttle interior, with the new N7 classes, from the Earth DLC trailer.
