Personally I'll manage fine. I liked Joker in ME1 but by the third game his attitude was tiresome.

Speak for yourself, I won't miss him one bit. One of the lamest, unfunniest characters in gaming history. Voiced by one of the unfunniest people in the world.

Joker was a cocky smug little a**hole, that I wish I could crack right in the jaw.  But given his condition, his mouth would disintegrate.  Don't get wrong, there was moments he (and sometimes, he and EDI) would have me dying of laughter.

 

But Joker was much more tolerable in ME1.  In ME2, he just became an ass, and ME3 he was ass with a fetish.

Seth Greene had great delivery except for maybe one or two lines, but I really won't miss Joker one bit. ME3 made me truly dislike the character (especially after Thessia, and his relationship with EDI didn't really work for me).

I overall liked him, save for his quip after Thessia. 

I won't miss him myself, there are plenty of other original trilogy characters I will miss however, but that's for another thread.

I really liked Joker. He was great in ME1 and ME2. In ME3 - though - it was mostly EDI this and EDI that, not the good old Joker from previous games. So, I'm pretty much okay getting a brand-new - hopefully kick ass - pilot in MEA.

Joker gets brownie points for being among the only ones who is loyal to the cause from start to finish (along with Chakwas, Tali and Garrus), and I quite liked him in ME1 and the first part of ME2, but his ME3 presentation was atrocious, with the whole character essentially reduced to some juvenile robosexual fetish. He still had a couple good moments like reminding EDI who the geth chose to get in bed with after I destroyed them for it, as well as expressing the thoughts that Shepard wasn't allowed to post Thessia (though I would have directed them at the criminally useless asari leadership rather than the species at large).

I won't miss him all that much as long as the next pilot we get is an interesting enough character. Of course given the progression in the original trilogy, I fear they're gonna make a lifeless toaster fly the ship in this game, which would be horrible, and I'd probably be pining for Joker at the helm again in that case

I really like Joker, but if I feel like I'm actually missing any of the trilogy characters, I'll go play the trilogy. I'm hoping for something different this time. Maybe there'll be two pilots.

While I liked joker somewhat he never a character I would have truly missed or felt a deep attachment to.
I didn't have any issue with his humour even at thessia & didn't mind the whole edi arc but felt it could have been played more seriously.
So yeah I'm looking forward to having a fresh pilot character.
