In light of the free download on Origin and the fact I am now completely addicted to it, I was thinking I want the Mako to be a minigame patterned after that.  I am/have been fairly apprehensive about Bioware showing the revamped Mako as a "major selling point," an aspect in ME1 (and ME2's version as well) I found terribly boring and ignored when possible.  Now if I can employ the Mako to smash through blockades, race to objectives (time limits,) and run and gun (hopefully they have weapons,) I think I could enjoy that element.

Anyone else have Mako "concerns" and thoughts on how to improve the experience?

I really can't think of anything to add.  You just hit the nail on the head here.  Good work OP.

What ME:A can lead from arcade gaming and why they should go back to the Donkey Kong model.

The relentlessness and determination of the enemy.  reapers are lazy and just fly around.  Donkey Kong chugged barrel...after barrel...after barrel...after barrel and never stopped until you were dead.  Get point Zip!

That's only if you sucked at it.

BioWare should take notes from Minesweeper. Now that's a game with solid mechanics

The best way to improve my experience is to avoid driving the bloody thing, whenever possible.

Since EA insists on making games for 12yolds expect belief suspension when driving it in watery worlds, volcanic worlds, blizzard/ice age worlds and jungle type worlds. There's much diverse scenery in watery, volcanic, jungle and frozen type worlds, which is why we are expected to explore them with an all terrain Macko. Of course, I may be wrong and the Helius Cluster is home to100s of human type worlds. It's possible but highly improbable in the real world....

Sorry, but my experience with the Macko was bad and wish to avoid it. Besides, sensors in an orbiting platform can pinpoint items of interests and if you decide to make a foot exploration, .... well that's why you have something called a shuttle in the cargo bay.

I think that Bioware should add cops and stuff bro. Like space cops and be like GTA 5 and like have a 12 star wanted level.

Check this out bro...

-You discover a planet

-You are riding in a mako

-Space cops out of nowhere

-2 star wanted level

-run over random new alien species causing all of them to go ape ****

-massive battle starts

-humans bone the **** out yo

-Commander Trevor Phillips the 5th returns to station.

11/10 would play this game

Look no further for inspiration than ME1 - it was a rough diamond which showed obvious potential which has never been realised to date.

The mako itself was more or less fine it was the horribly steep terrain at times and level design which let it down on the whole although Feros and Virmire we're not half bad and the Thresher Maw battles on insanity as frustrating as they were, particularly the ice planet one were great fun.

Hoping for more Random creature encounters both bosses and hordes.

Did not care for FireWalker and the Hammerhead particularly the lame platforming and the linear obstacle courses. Tanks should feel and move like tanks not ridge racer cars. You might as well go on foot the amount of time you have to spend in cover regenerating shields.

It would be cool if people who want heavy armor plating have to sacrifice movement and vice versa so hammerhead types won't dislike ponderous movement and people who want actual tanks can have their cake too. I loved putting on a mix playlist in the mako and going out exploring looking for collectables and admiring the views - it didn't really matter that there was nothing to do because the landscape was so epic it was really zen. Snow under tires, music on the radio, thresher maws to find and kill. Good times.

A futuristic hybrid of a frigate and a AC-130 Spectre will do me just fine.

The Mako was fine other than the fact that it handled like a drunken rhinoceros on a trampoline.

The Hammerhead was literally weakest damn tank every.

I have seen the damn thing get blown up after 3 shots by a geth trooper on casual.

IMHO it was more fun to drive but as James said "it was made out of tissue paper" which made a pain to play Firewalker and Overlord

I guess the best answer would be either a blend of the Mako and Hammerhead. Or better yet: a choice between them giving players a choice between them the Mako might be better suited for more combat and the Hammerhead for stealth allowing for different paths to objectives and also allow players to upgrade both vehicles.

Well it's likely all we're getting is the Mako, but all they have to do is fix it so that the slightest bump doesn't send you way off course.

Although as much as the Hammerhead is a tin foil tank, I can't say as I ever really had an issue with dying with it.

Well they confirmed you manually drive the ARK Ship so how about a scene like this but with big ships, in space...?

Yes we want a mako! How else will you be able to give me a show while I play the game???

As far as Need For Speed... Other than handling, that's probably all the game should learn? Racing games and open world RPGs aren't exactly similar. As far as mini-games, I don't believe it would really fit into Mass Effect.
