Since I had unexplainable hard reboots for weeks when playing ME3, I though I'd share my experiences. After doing a lot of web research and fiddling, it turned out Flash player was massively interfering with the cinematics of ME3. It interfered with web videos also. Every kind of video could lead to a hard reboot with me none the wiser.

Only when I disabled it completely in Firefox, things went back to normal. It's not needed for most youtubes or vimeos anyway. And certainly not for Mass Effect. But be careful, there are two instances in need of deactivation. Primetime content decrypter and the actual player. Only deactivating one didn't resolve the problem.

 Why? How?

ME uses bink videos. Afaik adobe stuff can't even recognize these as video files!

No idea. But it interfered with web videos just the same. Although it wasn't needed to play the particular video. My rig is stable since I deactivated both plugins.

Honestly, given how little thought went into security with Flash, you're better off overall.

Current recommendations for hardening a computer operating system and removing vulnerabilities include uninstalling and disabling Flash Player, Macromedia Shockwave, and anything that's a browser plug-in available from Adobe, including Acrobat Reader's browser extensions.

You can uninstall Flash from add-remove programs if you have the internet explorer installation, and you can disable Flash as a plug-in in all of the other browsers. Your computer will be more secure and you will not miss Flash for the most part.
