So what is your guilty pleasure? A movie, game, music, book, graphic novel or whatever else that you just enjoy despite everyone trashing on it or that its just so bad its good.

For me, my ultimate guilty pleasure is the movie Sucker Punch by Zack Snyder. A bunch of pretty women killing nazis and dragons, in the same movie? Yes please! It is actually a brilliant movie, but hated by critics and most people.

Also Sweet Pea (one of the characters in the movie) is freaking awesome.

I admit it: I did read most of the Sookie Stackhouse novels, even though the writing was atrocious! I believe that's the only case in which I thought the TV series was better than the books.

I also cry when I listen to sad songs. Like Hello by Evanescence - it's so self indulgent of me. I have to play songs like that when I'm alone so I can give in to the emotion without embarrassing myself. Or there's this Gaelic song about a woman's lover dying in the war. I could put together a whole playlist of those.

I'm not sure it really counts, because it's clearly one of the best things ever but:

Does it count if you don't actually think whatever it is was bad?

I really liked the "let's go back to the time of the dinosaurs so we can bring in resources from the past because we f'd up our planet" show Terra Nova. Sure, I did think the dino fx, when they appeared, were a bit bad, but all of the human stuff was great. I mainly watched it for the family, and Stephen Lang as the head military commander. It was panned in reviews, lambasted in various comment threads, and only rarely did I see remarks by people who liked the show for what it was: an excuse to watch attractive people survive in the primordial wilderness, with a dash of familial cuteness to break up the tension.

Alien vs. Predator is another one. The female protagonist makes the movie for me: a successor worthy of Ellen Ripley, my favorite female protagonist of all time. I'm not crazy about the other Predator movies aside from the first, but I did like their depiction in this film. In addition, the link to my favorite space horror franchise was pretty well done (at least, I thought so).

And lest we risk turning this also into a thread about food: Cheetos. Seriously. I purposely avoid buying them because I cannot prevent myself from eating an entire bag over two days. I don't think I've had any in about a year.

Mmmm, cheetos... orange powdery crunchy goodness!

I can't remember if I tried watching Terra Nova. I vaguely remember one of those shows that was nauseatingly father-knows-best set in some kind of dinosaur-infested dystopia, but I might be mixing up terrible TV series.

Does Hemlock Grove count as a guilty pleasure?

Mine is chili lime Takis, these Mexican corn rolled tortilla chips coated with chili lime flavoring. They get red powder on your fingers and they are absolutely packed with sodium. They're also extremely addictive.

I suppose you could count romance novels, even though I'm not really embarrassed by that anymore. Though at the same time, if someone thought that was the only thing I read, I'd be eager to correct them. There are plenty of romance novels with plots and dialogue that make me cringe because they're so very terrible, but then there's also Loretta Chase, who usually manages to pack humor and adventure in as well. Plus, her characters are usually very aware of the world outside of themselves, and they do things to affect the world in a positive way. Which is rare in a regency romance.

Okay, real talk moment.  No one except my husband knows this but my guilty pleasure is showtunes.  I listen to so much damn broadway music in my car and at the gym.  I could give Audra McDonald a run for her money at this point.  And my guiltiest showtune pleasure?  Legally Blonde: the Musical.  It's surprisingly good.

I can feel you all judging me right now........

Um hmm lets start with Sim Date games I guess, found them when I was in middle school (the really cutesy kind not the smutty kind) and may or may not look around to see if there are any fan made ones of fandoms I enjoy or try to revist the old ones I use to play. 'Chrono Days' by Pacthesis being one of my favorite at the time if memory serves me well.

I'm not. I love show tunes, and for the most part, I don't even feel guilty about it.

I do when it comes to Hairspray: the musical, though. I even liked the movie.

Supernatural, two brothers facing the world of monsters. I don´t really like the Christianity being the central plot but I do like the different monsters appearing, sometimes there are even old gods. Though many of them die way too easily.

Oh yes, and pancakes. Crusty sides, thin, salty, and greasy. Or sweet ones, with whipped creme. Either way.

Well, there are a few of them. Oreos. They started selling them (not counting those "foods of the world" shops) like 3 years ago, and I can't get enough of them. And then they had to introduce the ice cream.

Singing in the shower. And the car. Going on the highway and singing "IIIIIIIIIIII'm gonna swiiiiiiing from the chandelieeeeeeeeer" at the top of my lungs is crazy fun.

Also, Teen Wolf. Before it went down the drain, that is.

I think that's enough for now.

OH I didn't know there was a Legally Blonde musical. The movies are adorable, so I'm sure the musical is super fun.

Wait... where do you live that you only got Oreos three years ago?? I have to know! I got the birthday ones for my birthday recently. I had never tried them before, but damn, those were addictive. Opening up the pack for every nosh was hilarious: *WOOSH* huge Birthday Oreo scent wafts out and slams into your face.

[edit]

I was tempted to make a thread about this in the main group section, but decided against it.

Cookie Clicker! Omg it's so addictive! This is an automated browser game where you bake cookies. Once you bake 15 cookies, that is, click the big cookie 15 times, you can buy a cursor that will automatically click for you. There are more buildings and upgrades to buy with cookies as the currency that allow you to make more cookies. The catch is that the price of each upgrade (in cookies) increases exponentially, so you have to keep making more cookies to buy upgrades to make more cookies to buy upgrades... and so on.

There are holiday events. For example, the recent Valentine's Day event had message hearts falling in the background and heart-shaped cookies to buy.

It saves your progress in your browser cookies (lol) so you can always return to your previous amount. Alternatively, you can also export a save code if you want to play on another device.

Related, a humorous Sten comic.

I just checked and supposedly they were available since 2011, but I started seeing them around 3 years ago. I don't want to say exactly, so let's say Europe, somewhere on the right.

They are addictive. I'm glad the ice cream is so ridiculously expensive, otherwise I would be stuffing my face with them the whole summer.

Oh, so it's in the same vein as Adventure Capitalist. I've had my share of clicks already :P

(huh, cookie clicker was first)

'American Tale Fievel Goes West' that was and probably would be still, if I still owned a copy, was that one movie I would watch just constantly to the point of being able to mute the TV and recite the entire movie word for word no exaggeration. This wasn't something I did as a little kid either this lasted through most of highschool as well until I lost my copy of it and our old TV that was kept in my room busted.

Okay, really, real talk, though? "Gay or European?" is one of my favorite musical things ever. And I'm not even particularly a fan of showtunes.

My guilty pleasure would probably be playing Pokemon Showdown. Turns out, the battle system for a children's RPG makes for a surprisingly intricate strategy game. There's also Cards Against Humanity, but that's a very different kind of guilt.

I'm fascinated by Kimbo Slice's pro fights.
They're about as awful as one might expect from an untrained brawler with busted knees but I watch. Every. Single. Fight.
Even his last one where the guy got TKO'd by heart failure.

The other one, cereal. I love that s*** more than a grown man should.

Guilty pleasures I probably should feel bad about but don't, really awful Scifi movies really awful ones that include things like a shark octopus hybrid or a dolphin shark human hybrid made by the government, or even shark movies where the shark gets drawn to the area because of wine in the water.

Guilty pleasures I actually feel guilty over, Monster High and Ever After High. Not to the level of collecting the dolls of them but that's probably only because I don't have the shelf space or a new job yet. I will absolutely play with the ones my cousin has when she isn't around, not like she plays with them anyway.

I can't believe I just admitted that. I already feel the shame washing over me ^^;

Here's a few of mine.

Movies

Maximum Overdrive. The Stephen King movie about every machine in the world coming to life. It's got AC/DC for the soundtrack, and stars Emilio Estevez. It's every bit as terrible and wonderful as I remembered. Sasquatch and I watched it last week.

The Adventures of Ford Ferling. It stars Andrew "Dice" Clay, Wayne Newton as the bad guy and Priscilla Presley as the love interest. It's incredibly stupid and terribly outdated, but it has one of my all time favorite quotes.

"So many a**holes. So few bullets."

The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. I normally hate "chick flicks," but I'm not sure why Iike this so much. Frankly, I have no good excuse. The cast is pretty good, but otherwise...

Con Air. "Put the bunny back in the box."

TV Shows

Judge Judy. What, don't look at me like that!

World's Dumbest _____. Sometimes, I'm feeling completely brainless and want to watch B-list and C-list celebrities making fun of stupid youtube videos.

Music

I'm a bit of a K-pop fan. There's a great song called "Hide n Seek" that I adore. I can't name any bands, but I enjoy most K-pop that I've heard.

Insane Clown Posse, at least their older stuff. Some of it is nostalgia from my early 20s, some of it is because it's a good stress relief.

Food

I used to love cold Spagettos in a can, before I developed acid reflux. I'll admit it's disgusting. :P

There's probably more in there somewhere, but I can't think of anything else at the moment.
