Anyway, another guilty pleasure - Big Fat Quiz of the Year.

Hey, that show is good. I watch it every year, no shame in liking that lol.

8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown is pretty funny too.

It is good, but it's not something I'd recommend to anyone, the humour is pretty raunchy.

I do like the fact that the UK comedy scene is very active. Between QI, Mock the Week, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Have I Got News for You, 8 out of 10 Cats, and so on, there's a lot of quality content to choose from.

(Oh and let's not forget about the writer who's sniffing poppers and having sex in Disneyland bathrooms trying to make sweeping generalisations about gay men based on his life...)

Just wanted to chime back in and respond to this one thing. I didn't pay attention to those popper articles because rec drug use is not something that interests me. I went ahead and read the most recent one to see what the deal was. Gotta love the commenters for helpfully explaining it for others just as clueless as myself. I had no idea that was a thing...

But if it helps, the comments sections do usually have people, and other gay men, chiming in with the opposite view. I saw the same thing on those numerous PrEP articles (I've only read the most recent ones, not the writer's entire history with the subject), where the comments were sometimes more interesting and enlightening than the actual piece. I felt the same with those "female Viagra" (ugh at the misrepresentation) articles.

Back to the topic... binge watching is certainly a guilty pleasure. I'm starting to feel that some shows are designed with that in mind. I've binge-watched Law & Order reruns, which is insane if you factor in commercials. I think the worst was with Game of Thrones season two, where I watched the first eight (out of ten) episodes in a row.

And I'm really thankful for that. That article I mentioned was posted a few years ago and had stuff like 'gay men don't have long lasting relationships' and I'm glad people in the comment section rushed to criticise this, because I really didn't need an additional layer of self doubt.

It's also telling that the readers post more nuanced and informed comments that a lot of the articles. Anywho, enough about Gawker.

I think I may of found a new one but it's still in a weird middle ground where I keep watching it but I'm not sure yet if I enjoy it or not. Obviously it's a children's show because it's the only thing for my short attention span. 'Miraculous Ladybug' fairly certain it falls somewhere in the 'magical girl' genre, which is extra odd cause I barely watched those as a child.

8 out of 10 Cats seems to do Countdown more than they actually do the original version, probably because the panel show version was a bit generic, whereas Comedy Countdown is far more funnier.

If only Hollywood would stop filching some of our best comic talent, we've not had any shows like Spaced, Black Books or Green Wing in years because half the homegrown talent for the UK and Ireland are now too busy over the pond.
