I do believe planets with hazards will be back.

Anyway, I'd like to see some big carnivorous planets.  They can serve as traps.  Firing at the environment as we colonize will be lot of fun.

Then primitives who would love to eat you and your squad.

They've already got that covered. It's called an Asari.

That looks like a constipated crab. I'll pass.

We should have a planet in MEA that is actually an alien in disguise and tries to swallow our entire ship.

We also need a water planet with exotic and nude mermaids who perform sexual acts 24/7.

With great happiness, If Andromeda holds a race of Elcor the size of dinosaurs with organic cannons on their back, I will be the happiest Elcor alive.

A race of sapient plants. One of those could be a companion. A druid of sorts. Attuned to the natural order of things. An example of how they could differ from other companions - if you take them to a new planet, they could provide a small amount of insight into that planets ecosystem. Sort of like the Sylvari from Guild Wars

Spoiler

Only less pretty. More towards Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy.

Looks more like a Banshee.

You can make a Sylvari that looks like it has bark for skin though, can't you? I think I remember making one like that.

You can, and even though you can make them super fugly, they still come across as pretty elves. I wrinkle my nose at the thought of that in Mass Effect. But I like the concept, and it's not like it can't be done. Example being Groot, who exists in a sci-Fi universe.

The Asari are already elves so what's the big deal? Bring on the cute plant-people, I say.

I don't find that outfit attractive at all. It looks like it came out of some reject carnival in the middle of nowhere. I think a five year old could likely design a better outfit than that.

I wouldn't say no to more sexy aliens, but I think I'd prefer gritty over sexy in this case. Either way, I believe we are both in agreement that plant people would be cool, no?

Something with more than 2 legs and 2 arms. Maybe something that doesn't even have legs or arms.

I'm definitely up for plant people, but what's "gritty" about Groot? And the last time BioWare went "gritty" we got a series of dark corridors and a crew of daddy-issue-havin' betas.

Blindsight was an excellent science fiction exploration of the concepts of intelligences vs. consciousness as well as being one of the few narratives I've seen (though I will admit to not having a huge library of experience) to depict an 'alien' intelligence without resorting to the whole "Beyond our comprehension" copout either. I would like to see BioWare look towards concepts like this when creating new aliens for Mass Effect: Andromeda:

It's very hard to do properly, but I'd like an alien species with a completely different moral spectrum from humans, that isn't played for laughs or used as an excuse to blow them up because they aren't like humans.

Like say a species that has a mind hive of sorts and honestly views individuality as a curse of sorts. But in the usual way where it makes them freedom-hating bad guys that the heroes (modeled after red-blooded americans, of course) can exterminate with impunity. A species that puts little to no stock in individual life but values community and a greater good (with all the good and bad things that this implies) above all as a general rule, and is genuinely puzzled as to how humans and other aliens can feel good when they are so lonely all the time, without the guiding hand of their community. Kinda like the Tau in Warhammer 40K, just with less anime influences.

And no, by that I don't mean an insufferably morally superior species of people who are oh so self-righteously wise at everything like the N'Avi in Avatar. That species would have its own set of moral baggage and perhaps dissidents that we can agree with or not.

Another possibility is just, well, something akin to the Protheans. Ruthless conquerors who nonetheless value order and discipline even if they must impose it the hard way. I don't think the Turians count as this, those aliens wouldn't play nice with a Council. Nor do the Batarians, they are more like Space North Korea or Space Pirates.

A perfect example of how to have an alien species be intrinsically 'alien' to us without out resorting to the whole "We are beyond your comprehension." gibberish for one thing.
