If you have the Heart of Despair staff, put that and the belt on a Necromancer with a full cold build.. that is fun.

 

I have only promoted the necromancer once.  Full cold build? Think I was using walking bomb, horror, fade step/ice armor, winters grasp. Virulence is a great ability.

Don't have that staff yet.  I have the Isana's Song.  Storm belt pls.

You know what...? Here's something I forgot to ask before debating this subject: "Ready for Perilous", does that mean you and your group win every match or are you allowed complete wipes as well?

Yeah, there are a number of very viable builds on the necro.  Virulence is great when you watch the freeze move from one enemy to another.  Really alot of fun.

Indeed... very valid.

 

What happens when you and your team gets wiped out?  You lose how much experience, gold, loot, and prestige?

 

None.. that's right.

 

As long as you can make it well into the fourth and hopefully well into the fifth zone, it is always better to push yourself and gain more experience.

Promotions shouldn't even be considered when determining whether you are ready for Perilous. Gear and character choice are the key.

If you have Drakescale armor and a good weapon most classes are fine in Perilous with no promotions. Good weapon = Dragon level or equivalent.

Reaver, Arcane Warrior, Saarebas, Silent Sister, Lego, Avvar and Katari are the stronger PUG characters in my opinion.

They all have the ability to generate guard, barrier or heal while doing DPS. Lego just doesn't die.

If your weapons aren't up to snuff you won't be able to solo but you'll certainly still be able to contribute using the above classes.

TLDR:

Once you have Drascale and a good weapon. Play the classes that can use that good weapon to farm Perilous dragons for Dragon and Descent weapons. Quickest way to progress other than farming willpower and items while saarebotting Nightmare.

LVL 24+ weapons and tier 3 armor is all you need for perilous.

Personally, I prefer the platinum drakescale for my saare. Best armor in the game, rare drop off the Druffy-Dragon. Yeah, RNG was generous to me for a change.
