Wow, that is quite rude. I'm not sure what I did to earn such belligerence but...I will endeavor to make my point much clearer in my next thread. I humbly apologize for this inconvenience I have so inconsiderately laid upon you. When next I come up with a thread, I shall spell every thing out clear as day. With simple words and sentence structure. And a message that is completely in your face and obnoxiously worded so as not to confuse those who have not yet grasped subtlety or nuance.
Or just, ya know, don't rely on missing context clues. Hardly anyone watches that show and you offered no reason to interpret this as anything other than more whining about the setting change.

Citation needed. Even if that's true, then people have crappy taste in TV shows. More people should be watching it if they aren't. And really? missing context? Come on, I guess I could have explained the scene surrounding the line but it couldn't take an Einstein to put two and two together regardless.
I guess I could have been more obvious but the vitriol from you is unneeded at any rate. Still rude.
Who's Carter?

There you go!
Thanks. I rather wonder why all these marvel heroes have become so popular in the entertainment business lately.
No. It was a tongue-in-cheek jab at the original trilogy's ending. ...
Because we were all waiting for that 'important' topic to be raised yet again in a forum about MEA ...
Actually, no.
Dohoho, two can play at this game.
Hey guys, do you mind if I take you all on a road trip? We'll have so much fun in that big ol' mobile home of mine. Just...one small, unimportant caveat which needs to be addressed though. At the end of the road trip, we will all horribly die as the RV drives straight into the ocean when I, against my better judgement, start drinking alcohol while at the wheel. Sharks will feast upon our flesh and some won't even make it that far. It will be the most agonizing, excruciating, merciless death we could ever be subjected to.
But don't worry. That road trip will be SO worth it.
Wait, so you're saying that I shouldn't talk about XCOM 2 and their "Old Testament-style" (read: merciless and unforgiving) RNG gods?
Well phooey; and here I was getting ready to talk about Skyrim...
"I used to be a forum poster like you, but then I took an omni-blade to the knee."
I watched Agent Carter show. In fact, I just watched the double episode earlier but how was this related to MEA again?
So... apparently Ted Cruz is the Zodiac killer, and he wears two watches.
Discuss.
Bingo.
Also, you have great taste in characters. He's my favorite too. He MAKES that show.
Carter and Howard Stark makes the show. Jarvis while good was much better as the AI in the Iron Man and The Avengers movies.
I have been watching Agent Carter but I was more thinking about how the "Zero Matter" in the show was basically described as Element Zero.
It began a long time ago. I would know, I was one of the first.It.. Begins
You need to go outside, kid.
There are. But they've been done to death for the past 8 years of gaming. Time for a shift in the ending paradigm. Can we have the next 8 years of video game protagonists living in the end and triumphing over evil without succumbing to said evil's methods? Pretty please? With sugar on top? Then the next eight years AFTER that can be another wave of protagonists sacrificing themselves for the greater good because apparently it's less mainstream and we like less mainstream.
Oh, and I didn't intend the original post to be P.A. Just all the stuff I posted towards Jack afteward. : )
I can't remember a single Bioware game in which the protagonist is assured to die at the end. Though admitteldy I'm unfamiliar with the ones before Kotor. So I'm not exactly sure what this discussion has to do on the Bioware forum.
Acually I can't even think of many recent games in general where the protagonist is assured to die at the end. Care to give me some titles so I can play these games. I'm a sucker for bittersweet endings where the hero dies I must admit. ![]()
@Chronoid: Don't mind Killroy too much. S/he is just acting out their avatar, it's not personal and happens in most threads these days. You have to admit though, that your own thread doesn't lack a certain passive aggressive touch.
As for the statement, I don't agree, neither for storytelling nor in the real world. There are great stories that have the hero dying in the end and there are people throughout history who arguably died for worthy causes that they sure would have classified as "worthwhile".
That said, I also think it would be refreshing to have a protagonist survive in the ME universe for a change.
While such stories can be good, it's not the first choice for a lot of people.
And in a game about making choices, and where said choices lead to multiple endings, would it not make sense to have some endings end up happy for the protagonist, and others not so happy?
I still hold that DAO is the model to follow as far as ending range goes.

It's an important topic for a lot of people.
It's not all about multiplayer, you know.

This is very true. DA:O really has something for everyone. Ironically, for my first (and still most beloved) Grey Warden I chose the sacrifice ending. ![]()

Well the Force unleashed protagonist doesn't have to die and kind of get's better in the sequel anyways, but I'll check out he rest.
Thanks.

Agent Carter is the best of all marvel/dc TV-series and Jarvis is awesome. James D'arcy should be in ME:A

Let me add to the list! SPOILERS FOR A BUNCH OF RECENTLY MADE GAMES. ONLY READ IF YOU'RE CERTAIN YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT BEING SPOILED A GAME MADE IN THE PAST 8 YEARS
Every time someone tells me that happy, "Fairy tale" endings are overdone I can't help but chuckle heartily. Like a clown.
