My default Shep was red-haired anyway, so I was mainly just disappointed with how the face was rendered.

...Didn't love the bang style either.

The face was weird. But in my case I was just pissed that the one character I carried through the franchise for 27 playthroughs at the time(12 ME1, 15 ME2) couldn't have his face carry over and they told me to remake his face.

That killed ME3 pretty much from the start.

A moot point to talk about since Asari don't have no hair.

They have eyelashes, that's hair. An asari with blonde eyelashes, hmmm....

You know, for all the SJWs whine about being offended and preach about not hurting feelings, they sure push a lot of hatred and stereotypes for blonde women. The smartest girl I met was a blonde.

I'm not sure what's the deal about hair color and stereotypes anyway. I guess people make fun on everything that was different.

Good point. But I think they buy those at the drug store. And blue and blonde (or gold) definitely go well together.

I can confirm that blonde won by a country mile and BioWare changed it to red because of the backlash from SJW morons. It was a big thing on the old BSN at the time.

The complaining on the BSN was mainly that the poll was held on facebook, and that the blonde version won only because it was voted on by filthy casuals instead of the hard core fans of the series. It had nothing to do with social issues. The people complaining on the BSN were mainly fans of the red-haired concept, and they wanted another poll.

There were some people who complained that the poll amounted to a beauty contest and was sexist, but that group objected to any poll at all. That was also more of a Tumblr thing.

I'm not sure which group was more ridiculous.

Oddly this thread had me go back to some of my first games that allowed romantic relationships of your choosing and I'm finding that a lot of the ones I liked were blonde or pretty close to a blonde color.

Again full support of more blonds popping up. I just hope the shades look alright, part of the reason I hardly try to make a blonde myself can never like the color on any character I make.

I've been reading this forum (and the one on gamefaqs for couple of different games) for the last two years I think, and I've yet to meet this mythical SWJ creature you guys love to talk about in every single thread. Don't get me wrong, I don't like extremists of any kind (because it requires a certain kind of passion that I lack), but it's just funny how obsessed everyone is with them here. Even if there is such a great many number of people concerned with human rights or whatever--- so fcking what, there's worse stuff to be obsessed with I'm sure.

Really? You've missed all the threads about making the protagonist transgender and adding every imaginable type of romance for each and every special snowflake who may play the game? Or about fat-representation being necessary? Or about how it wasn't fair that only one of the lesbian romance options in Inquisition was an actual lesbian and not just bisexual?

The Dragon Age boards are a den of SJW scum and villainy but it bleeds into the Mass Effect boards often enough.

Idk, I don't read the DA forums, but here on ME forums there's ten times more sarcastic & troll posts about it than one serious post about the things you mentioned. Or on Fallout 4 forums-- I literally haven't read one single serious post that can be taken as SJW, yet there are numerous people talking about it & making troll threads. Makes me think those people go out searching for it intentionally, or what? It's fascinating.... I have a tumblr account as well (mostly because of porn), but all I've ever seen there were random posts that seemed completely valid to me, even though I'm too lazy to be really invested in it. I mean, more power to them I guess, it doesn't affect me at all and I think it's kind of nice that someone still cares about something. Idk man, I just don't see the "scum and villainy" you mention, I guess.

From what I've seen, the really intense drama usually occurs in the DA section.

The ME section has always been a little more tame in that regard, though it has its moments, and the old Off-Topic Lobby could be downright rational at times.

Have I mentioned that I miss Off-Topic?

I just meant that I can't relate to extremist of any kind, I'm prone to seeing things from both perspectives in any given situation. Of course there are more concrete reasons to dislike extremists, I was just speaking in general.

People usually don't turn to extremism on a whim. I'll use Nazi Germany as an example. If you and your children were starving and Hitler offered a way out through dictatorship, which included the restriction or even elimination of your rights as a German, would you accept or try to see it from both sides? Keep in mind you're very hungry.

Well sure, if you ignore something its hard to see it. And it's not like extremists only require an equal amount of pushback to deter them. There are only like 20,000 ISIS fighters but the entire world is watching them and trying to fight them in one way or another. Extremism has to be drowned out, not tolerated.

And so this thread has gotten to the stage of reductio ad Hitlerum. This itself discredits the entire argument. People can turn to extremism upon receiving only a convenient part of an argument. It's called propaganda. It's been done for centuries.

Here I mistakenly thought this thread was about hair color in the Mass Effect Universe, and not about SJWs. Was I wrong or what?
