This is why I don't think I'll ever really use appearance mods for the most part if I get into using mods at all. Nothing wrong with enjoying characters that look like this or enjoying these mods yourself or course just something about the skin looks off to me. I guess it looks too smooth for me maybe? Hard to put my finger on it. On another note I do like that hair always did have a soft spot for braids of nearly any kind.

Appearence mods can look amazing though when done right. Skyrim is a good example of having some truly transformative appearence mods. Here's an example;

The difference and attention to detail are phenomenal! I'd be happy if we could make our character even halfway as decent as this.

Look I don't ever judge on how someone else's character looks but if you're wondering as to why people are saying she looks like a prawn star, it might be due to the fact that she looks really unreal. Her lips are too big, eye brows seem unnatural and her forehead and face structure looks really off kinda like someone who took botox in real life.

Don't take this too seriously though, people have different standards of beauty and mine could be fucked for all I know. So don't worry and keep doing your thing!

I wan't trying to copy her exactly but she's my idea of the "beautiful" so it influences my choices in CC. All my characters have big lips, even the guys. I just think it looks good.

When people were first going wild with sharing images of their Inquisitors after DAI came out, there were a lot of complaints about people making ones that looked too much like supermodels. 

 

Mine was one of the ones people criticized for that, saying that the lips looked too puffy and such. I don't really get it. I can appreciate the idea that a lot of people want to step outside of the traditional hollywoodesque glam look for their action oriented PCs, but this comes back to what I was talking about before: people shaming over appearances that happen to fit a mold. 

 

I tend to like full lips as well, and personally I think your Shepard looks great. If I had a PC, I'd definitely want to use your face code.
