You have to admit that blonde is more attractive and seductive.

And what answer would satisfy you? Some people have blonde hair, some people like blonde hair, there is an obvious value in both the accuracy in representing it and aesthetic value in having it yet both values are impossible to quantify.

Nobody has asked for an arbitrary quota, some have expressed a preference for having good blonde hair in the game. This isn't an equation we, the forum populace, can balance with an excel spreadsheet. It is a request for the developers to consider something more than they have. The developers are the people who will have to assess what is possible, what gain is worth what cost, that some people don't see the merit in something has no bearing on that.

As I said, I'm not opposed to its inclusion. The reason it wasn't prevalent in ME1-3 was due to technical limitations of Unreal Engine 3. Frostbite 3 doesn't have such limitations, thus the point of this thread has largely already been rendered useless when we have examples of blonde characters in DAI, as an example. Sera comes to mind.

"As lovely as dark hair is, it's a shame that Mass Effect lore tends to consider blonde hair so extremely scarce. I believe Kahlee Sanders and Conrad Verner might be the only prominent blond NPCs of the Mass Effect universe, so it would be nice to encounter at least one more. Perhaps as a squad member."

Based on this quote from the OP, it seems to me he/she is specifically asking for either more NPCs or a companion to have blonde hair. That's more than just having a "preference for . . . good blonde hair in the game." That, in itself, could be construed as creating an arbitrary quota because of his/her preference to see a specific type of character for personal reasons.

Again, I'm not against the idea of blonde hair in the game. The more options, the more people will be pleased. As this isn't an issue with Frostbite 3, I'm sure we'll be seeing hair styles of all different flavors of colors! The point that was being made is BioWare doesn't have infinite resources and they have to prioritize what features actually make it into the game (character creation is incredibly time consuming and requires a lot of resources). BioWare has a limited budget and works on a tight schedule, so prioritizing is an integral part of game development and having blonde hair in the game, for example, would be far less of a priority than having a workable mako or a compelling story not filled with plot holes.

Everybody likes more options! BioWare can't make everybody's dreams come true, however.

No asari males. Sorry. They were wiped out in the first cycle by the reapers due to looking scary.

Well, blonde hair in the future shouldn't be that uncommon just because of gene engineering.

Kinda sad that no modders want to make Character Customization mods for Mass Effect trilogy like they did with Dragon Age.

Because it's harder and less rewarding. The ME engine doesn't allow for very much modding. Just look at the Nexus, which is a pretty good iindicator of what's popular.

DA:O, 2,277 mods, the other two in the DA series hardly reach that number in a combined effort. All three Mass Effects combined only had about 400 mods, whereas a game like Fallout New Vegas has over 16.000 mods. It's all about popularity, what the engine and the structure of the game allows and how forthcoming the company is with information on how to mod content.

Well dreaming isn't fun because you get excited and once you get to the good part you wake up and you don't remember. Plus, just because there won't be male asari doesn't mean there wouldn't be a sexy substitute in MEA!

So you've said, repeatedly, and yet what you actually did was step into the thread, declare your indifference for the topic and then state that you would prefer something unrelated (exotic aliens).

The trite point about game development always having a cost is important granted, but we all know it and it doesn't make your indifference relevant. BioWare will assess the desire against the costs regardless of whether you and everyone else who doesn't care says so. And the people who do care don't need to have such a basic concept explained to them, as they aren't demanding anything.

Construe what you want, the thread is saying something would be nice.

What you "construe" as "indifference" was me making a practical argument and considering how this requested feature furthers the experience of the game. The fact that you find my comments undesirable in no way validates your assumption-based claim that I am "apathetic," thus rendering my comments null and void.

The entire point of a forum is to have civil discourse from a breadth of perspectives and to thoroughly explore topics through reasoned analysis. That is literally where the term comes from going all the way back to its physical existence in Ancient Rome. The very fact you are fabricating my apparent disinterest in this topic, when I clearly have an interest as I made a comment to start, shows a lack of basic understanding of what a forum is intended to achieve.

A lot of things would be nice in life. The point is, we can't have our cake and eat it too. I merely was looking for a deeper understanding from the OP with regard to why exactly this would be so crucial and pivotal over other features.

Why do you always have to hurt my feelings? :crying:

Aww I'm sorry. Cookie?

Well, I guess that settles this thread. Next topic!

I do not care if BioWare adds blondes. I like black hair and red hair, though. Alternatively, if a girl has really long hair, her hair can be whatever color.

You're hilarious. In your first post you said you don't care and would rather have an exotic alien. If you were really hoping to gain deeper understanding with that post it should have included an actual question.

You can dance around claiming to really be making points about priorities all you want but they weren't in your first post or the others like it. You started by saying you don't care about the suggestion like that was somehow important, and I mocked you for it.

But now you're going in circles, and I've made my point, so I'm done.

I never said I didn't care about the suggestion at all. I said I didn't care what color hair styles there were in the game, meaning BioWare can include as many as they want within their means. Nothing in my reasoning has changed, just your failure to properly construe the meaning of my rhetoric as well as leaps in logic on your part. You can attempt to "mock" me all you want if it makes you feel better about your petty attacks on an opinion you don't agree with?

Blonde hair is going to be in the game. I can't guarantee if companions or NPCs are going to have blonde hair. I'm not even sure how many humans, besides the protagonist, will be in the game. However, as I told the OP, he/she can merely make his character's hair blonde if it is that much of an issue.

....I never knew anyone who is naturally blonde. Heck, I don't think I ever touch one.

I used to know ar ather cute one at school but we were never that close though she ran with a different group than me so we never really got close. Blonde hair does look pretty good on the nwe Frostbite engine though. My first Inquisitor Gina  was living proof of that.

You call that good looking? For me it looks like a straw mat. There's hardly any texture or shaders to it.

Well, the blonde hair in DAI didn't really look worse than all the other hair colours.

That says more about texture quality in DA:I than it says about how good it looks.

I've yet to find any game where blond hair looks natural and actually good. For my own characters, I usually go with darkish hair. Not because I don't like blond, but because of the above reasons.

Blonde is hard for a lot of game developers to get right. It seems there's a fine line between "highlighter yellow" and "light brown". I don't blame them, though. It is kinda tricky to get right.

Rise of the Tomb Raider has good and natural blond hair.
