It's going to largely depend on how well the NX is received. Nintendo has been ambiguous when it comes to discussing third party support for the Wii U. Hopefully that will change with the NX.

Yep. Reception is what's going to make this system a success or failure. Developers/Publishers will be wary of Nintendo due to its last two systems. If Nintendo hasn't made a concerted effort to change course, developers and publishers will run for the trees.

In my defense?

I'm defending Nintendo, not myself.

I didn't think I needed to literally spell out that I was referring to your defense of Nintendo. Guess I was wrong.

Besides, it doesn't take you much to attack people huh? I'm a mindless fanboy just because you happen not to be able to take on some exaggeration on the Internet?

I'm not attacking you. I offered an impartial criticism of your post ("...make you look like a mindless fanboy", not that you are one), and you decided to take it as an insult. No skin off my nose.

What bothered you dear, the numbers I used following the known repeating game franchises? Would you have preferred a factual Call of Duty #15, instead of 300?

Generally yes, the more factually sound an argument has, the more weight it carries. Sure, a slight exaggeration or two can make something appear stronger, but when you list off seven or eight in a row, it doesn't do you any favors.

The manner with which I presented my arguments in favor of Nintendo (except what they've done on YouTube, and still do to this day) is entirely irrelevant as long as you can simply get past the emotion and read between the lines.

The manner in which you present your arguments is not irrelevant as it speaks to your personal character, which can influence how someone then responds. Plus "You just have to read between the lines" is a terrible counter-argument.

As I said, I'm not surprised. The game was meant to release on the Wii U last year, after all. I was aware of the amiibo support as well. But again, if Nintendo was financially conscious, they'd probably just bail on the Wii U and focus entirely on the NX at this point. Especially if the NX comes in with a low price point this year, I will not be surprised if Zelda U sells far better on the new console than the old one.

I think it will sell about the same new consoles have supply issues as there is never enough of them.

Likely not going to happen due to restrictions Nintendo tends to uphold for their own consoles.

That said, I hope it does happen personally. Nintendo needs a few third party companies on their system. Badly.

Yeah it's really a strange situation for me. I grew up a console gamer. I had a SNES and a Sega Genesis in my house as a kid. I grew up on Nintendo, with the N64, in my opinion, being the greatest video game console ever made.

Speed up to current times and I'm a PC gamer who also has a X1, but doesn't really dabble much with console gaming anymore. As most games are available on PC anyway, it's my platform of choice by far. However, I still have hope that somehow Nintendo will become a dominant force in the industry again and make a console that will appeal to me.

I want the best for Nintendo, but they've just let me down, personally, for the last ten years. I'm hoping the NX will change all of that, but the course may have been set long ago and perhaps there's just no going back.

I haven't personally touched any console since the Atari 2600, but my brother-in-law has(had) a Wii U.   About 2 years ago there was a mandatory 'update'.   It can't complete it, so its basically a worthless hunk of metal.    Contacted support and they said, Sorry, you will have to buy a new one.

HA!   I said, 'like hell I do!'

Picked up an old Wii for $2 on a garage sale.   He only plays a handful of the really old games from the 90s anyway.  Would never give Nintendo a dime after that.

Am PC 99% of the time but I bought a Nintendo  wii u for legend of Zelda and Smash bros. I grew up on Atari and Nintendo in late 80's early 90's and I agree the N64 is the greatest home console ever.

I used to but then I got the Wii with some component cables (my cube doesn't support component) and now I just use that.
