Just remember, that there is one of my favorit translation gaffes for the Juggernaut.

Geth Juggernaut --> GER: "Geth Titan"
Hex Shield --> GER: "Magisches Schild" with has the meaning of "magical shield"
... "Hex" has nothing to do with the hexagonal shape (what you can see in the picture).

Hehe. I agree. Yes, the proof reading industry in Germany, is probably the main reason why the Germans consider the rest of the world to be a tad strange.
A friend at ARD explained it to me : They import english linguists, slap some german introductory training on them and let them loose on everything : and whilst they are syntactically correct, mostly the semantics are lost. Some sayings in English simply require totally something new:

En->DE
"Tastes like Grandma" - somehow english knows how meat of their elderly taste like. And, worse, is that it's perceived positive.

"Dogging point" in a park is not an invitation for couples.
A Clair "Mist" Stick is a literally a Dung Stick - & nobody wants to smell like that

Some 5* Hotel chains in the US /UK offers a "morning latte" - many virile men are caught off-guard with such stiffness offer when the beautiful room service lady knocks on the door with such an offer. (They don't pronounce it the proper Italian way)

DE->EN
Where no words exists in english (but could be really be useful in this forum) :
Sturmfrei
Ohrwurm
Pantoffelheld
Kummerspeck
