Okay, I know this has been asked before. I was reading some Mass Effect fanfiction earlier where someone had described Aria as 'blue', and I know in both games she's in, characters around her have described her as blue. However in both games, Aria is clearly purple to me. I'm just interested to see what other people think of this. She's at the very least a violet colour, and in no way looks blue. What does everyone else think?
She's purple. She's colored purple in the comics too.
Aria's friends must be color blind if they think her skin is blue.
She looks blue in the Omega DLC - a little more purple-ish than most other asari, but still blue. Though the color / ambiance of the Omega DLC is predominantly red / yellow / orange - wouldn't that tend to reduce the purple hue? (Since purple is generated by combining shades of red and blue)
As far as the comics, Incursion's drawings of Aria are purple-ish from some angles, outright purple from others, and blue from a third.
Benezia was pretty much always blue to my eyes, though her biotics manifested as purple. So maybe it's a matriarch thing? Aria is quite old, after all.
She is purple. The 'blue' appearance is solely due to the ambient lighting.

Yes, when Shep asks Shiala why her skin pigmentation changed to green in ME2 ("the real you was blue, like normal asari")
Characters who are clearly purple (Shiala and Aria) being repeatedly described as blue must be a consequence of video game characters being created not just by writers, but by artists and game designers as well. Clearly there was some miscommunication between two or more of those groups of devs, since the devs were writing the characters as blue, but rendering them purple in the game. The writers should probably have had to alter their dialogue to reflect how they were modeled in the game, unless the dialogue was already recorded.
"Blue" might also be used as a slang expression that refers to asari as a species, regardless of actual color. Like "Bird" is used in a few places for turians.
Purple but in certain lightenings I think it makes it look blue, basically i think in red lightening she looks purple.
I am proud to be purple.
