I would like to play with an ancient elf... ![]()
From what i saw in DAI their body structure is good enough!
and the lore behind them is as much as interesting if not more than the Dalish

An ancient elf who has lost their memories perhaps? How else would you explain their backround. Or perhaps they don't even know what they are... before Solas reveals it to them. You were once his enemy, loyal to the Evanuris, before they were defeated and somehow you survived the destruction of Arlathan. Now you have finally awoken only to find a world where you are a stranger, your gods are gone or dead, and the Dread Wolf once again plans to destroy what remains of the elvhen. Now it's up to you to avenge the death of your people and stop the Dread Wolf for once and for all.
It could work, sure, but I'd rather be a City Elf. Former slave from Minrathous who joins forces with the Inquisition to stop the Dread Wolf from destroying the world. DAO had three different elven origins. Being able to choose our backround as well as race would be really nice.
Yes, I would like DA4 to have a protagonist.
Human protagonist. Mage would be a high Tevinter noble that falls from grace, somewhat similar to dwarf noble. Warrior/rogue would be a poor mercenary that does odd jobs or works with an company to get by.

I'm boring. I always like to play human protagonists the most, but I don't want the human option to be a noble once again. Hoping we can choose to be a slave or something completely different and far away from nobility as possible.
I would like to play with an ancient elf, too.
Giggity.
I already did. Yeeeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh ![]()

Well, ****.
I want to play a non-elfy elf who is NOT a slave from Tevinter and a militant tal-vashoth (saarebas). Maybe a human slave from Tevinter, too.
So this is where we put protagonist requests for DA4? Excellent!
I want options for both dwarves and qunari. Not overly fussy about where the dwarf comes from, although someone from the Ambassadoria would make sense if we are indeed going to Tevinter. For the qunari, a slave would probably work best given that free qunari seem to be a rarity there.
Wouldn't surprise me if we got restricted to a human protagonist again a la DA2 (which I wouldn't necessarily mind).

Nope, Trespasser DLC makes it impossible. The only three thing that make sense is either Inquisitor-protagonist, new protagonist working for the Inquisitor or dual protagonist (option 1 + option 2). Otherwise, the DAI would make completely no sense. Plus as it has been discussed before: Gaider in an interview told us that DAI arc was originally a much larger arc and had to be split in two to cover the whole story. You know what that means, right?

WEll i would like to change don' t need o play with my Lavellan for another game,an ancient elf would be intreasting since we never played as one
An ancient elf would be the most special of snowflakes which I absolutely hate but would still be better than a fixed human protagonist which would be an instant no-buy for me.
I wouldn't want either. Give me the inquisitor again BioWare and finish their story which you made a point of opening back up and giving them a motivation to go on.

True. Bioware already tried that and as much as Hawke was a really colorful protagonist, lack of race choice s*cked. :/

Dunno... I still do not think it is a good idea. Some ppl do not like elves and would rather be able to choose the race. Btw, since it is nearly impossible for Bio to make an ancient elf the protagonist for DA4, perhaps the new game that they announced (turned based or sth, side line story) will have an ancient elf protagonist. Would not be such a bad idea as long as it does not interfere with the main plot line. Especially if it took place in time of ancient Elvhenan and could explain some dwarven lore too (perhaps war with the Titans?). Would totally buy it.

Ok i agree on that but they can give them amnesia to forget how of a special snowflake they are and they are the only elves who have a good body!
Well I want to play a pirate , doesn't matter the race.
Could have interesting background too , opening up opportunity to trade with qunari /Tevinter/dwarves etc...
Old, stuck up and full of myself? I have arrogant enough protagonists without adding that to the mix. No thanks.
Well, since time magic is a thing, I wouldn't actually mind an Emerald Knight, from earlier in the conflict with humans or even before it happened, to be playable.
Just imagining them being enslaved by Tevinter would make it even more worth it to me.
