Of course with a name like that you are just asking for your entire crew to go crazy and kill themselves only to be re-animated as grotesque space zombies ![]()

For the female, will it be Ginger or Mary Ann?
What about Mrs. Howell?

What about Mrs. Howell?
If the player want's to call their female character Mrs. Howell , they can or call her Lovie like her husband, Thurston, calls her.
With the male, the player can name their character Thurston and Professor and not just Gilligan or Skipper

Yes, but Gilligan and Skipper were the only actual crew members on the Minnow, so it would make more sense to name the male character that.

It wouldn't hurt to add those other two names to add variety to picking a name for their character.

I like how the OP asks a question and is looking for serious answers...yet most of what's posted is just brainless attempts at being clever and the posters aren't even really going to use it if we could change the name...
also why SSV anything? Isn't SSV the type/class of ship or something..or tied to it? Then why is everyone assuming the new ship will be the same class/type?
eh whatever....
I'd go with one (or all if enough playthroughs)

In the real world warships from a given nation are normally all given the same prefix. Such as HMS for Her Majesty's Ship or USS for United States Ship. In Mass Effect Alliance warships all have the SSV prefix for Systems Alliance Space Vehicle.
Of course that assumes that it'll be an Alliance warship but that seems fairly likely.

Suron and Fallen_Silver, I too would like to see some serious suggestions in this thread for naming the ME:A ship, and am working toward that effort. My earlier post was poking fun at potential ship names because I’m dissatisfied that the Milky Way has been abandoned, when so much of it could continue to be explored – especially since the time period for Andromeda is ~300 years after the end of ME-3 (I’m not sure about that). I’ve reviewed the potentials of names from traditional sources: mythology, traditional ship names, constellations, and other sources for inspiration; none of which stood out. What I liked about the name Normandy is that it had no inherent history (other than the beachhead in France), so the ship's history was a blank slate with nothing to taint it or poke fun of. Instead, the Normandy was fresh, new, and making a name for itself, or rather players were making the Normandy come to life, to a degree. Well, this is why I liked “Normandy” as the ship’s name. At some point I’ll offer up a few ship names to this thread for consideration.
The OP asked, essentially, for serious suggestions here, and I will respect that. I hope this thread does not go off-topic and get dinged by a moderator.

The Infinite
I'm not assuming the ship will be alliance like most people--in fact I think it's more likely that this is a cooperative effort between several species--but if it is I would consider the tendency to go with city/place names for alliance ships.

I hoping it also be a cooperatively built ship cause I'm kind of sick of humans at the center when there are other races in the galaxy
