Hmmm...lets see. Here's some wishes of various levels of feasibility:
1 - "Hybrid" classes. This comes from the whole Arcane Warrior / Knight Enchanter issues - everyone loves a good old fighter-mage, but they tend to be imbalanced as hell. And that's not just a DA thing, pretty much across the board in RPGs, when you take a mage and add on fighter skills, it's either brokenly OP, with all the strengths of both classes and few if any of the weaknesses or utterly useless with all the drawbacks and little compensation. The only time gish really work is when they're built from the ground up as a hybrid class rather than starting as one and adding in bits of the second later. So DA should do this. No fighter/mage specialisation, but a fighter/mage class with it's own abilites.
And of course, why stop with a fighter/mage. Why not a rogue/mage? Not nearly as common in RPGs, but plenty of design space to explore. And of course, finish it off with a fighter/rogue - a ranger type perhaps? That gives us the three base classes, and three hybrids, much like how ME does things (and, at least after the first game, where there was probably to much homogenisation between the classes, things worked excellently there). Adds plenty more gameplay options and character concepts. You could of course go further and add even more classes, but I feel that 6 is about right.
Some people might say to go the other way, and eliminate classes completely, but from my experience, at least with CRPGs, this is a really bad design decision, and it leads to either massive imbalance, and thus gameplay that's tedious (if you build OP) or nigh-impossible (if you build UP), or complete homogenisation, and thus very limited replayability.
2 - Smaller scale story. Look, we've saved the world enough for now, lets tone things down. That's not to say major events shouldn't be happening, but that the player's role shouldn't be "the last hope for Thedas". Or, at least, if we do end up being the last hope, at least make it so that we become said hope over the entire course of the game. Bioware have been really bad at this in recent times, with you becoming the hero far too early in the game (DA:I did it in the prologue, while neither DA:O or even the first ME waited that much longer - you spent the bulk of the game as "the only one who could stop <insert threat here>"). Do something more like BG1, with you investigating seemingly minor events that lead to you slowly discovering more and more about what is going one. Then, if we do have to save the world, make it something we only realise close to the end of the game after we've uncovered the truth about what is really going on.
3 - A bigger, better developed city. Kirkwall was the best they've done, but even that was a bunch of disconnected zones. I want the full map of a believably large city - if it needs to be divided into separate areas to meet system requirements, fine, but those zones should link together to make up the whole city.
4 - MODS!!! A full on toolset would be nice, but even if that can't be done, at least set up the game such that it supports mods.
5 - Dog
6 - Body size slider, or at least multiple pre-set options (like TOR).
7 - Hair that doesn't suck (probably the least likely one on here to be realised...)
8 - A world that changes without player input. This was probably my biggest beef with DA:I - they built a great world, but it was completely static unless the player intervened. Take the fade rifts, they just sat there, only spawning a few demons if you walked up to them. They're supposed to be a huge threat to Thedas, but, based on the game mechanics, a simple "keep out" sign and a fence would've been enough. The rifts should've gotten worse over time, being larger and creating more demons, the environments around them should've changed, with wildlife and people leaving. Or how about the conflicts in the Exalted Plains - the soldiers and undead keep fighting over the same places until you turn up and save the day. The fighting should be dynamic, one side should be able to completely win. If you leave it too long, the undead should overrun the last holdouts of the Orlesian soldiers. Inaction is a choice and choices need consequences. (I did a big wall of text on this here: http://forum.bioware...yer-dependant/)
9 - More mutually exclusive content based on my choices - In Hushed Whispers vs. Champions of the Just was fantastic. My choices didn't just impact the story and the characters, they actually impacted the game itself. While the two different paths did reunite afterwards, just having a section of the game which is completely different based on what choices I make was fantastic, and something BW should do more of.

- CC with a face code/export system
- Inquisitor returning as a/the protagonist
- Minrathous as a large city, including all its known landmarks like the proving arena, dwarven embassy, Minrathous Circle, the Magisterium, that square Dorian and Bull talk about, etc., all of which can be visited and explored at some point or other.
- Modding toolset
- Wicked Grace (or some other minigame) tournament where the you actually play the game instead of just seeing a cutscene
- Hrungr's suggestion regarding seasons, *especially* if we can see holidays in action.
- I'd also like to see an actual chantry service, be it in a cutscene or just being able to walk into a chantry from the street and have it going on in the background. I know Tevinter will be the "black chantry" as opposed to the "white" of the south that we're used to, but still, it'd be interesting to see.
- Return of the day/night toggle from DA2
- Return of the friendship/rivalry system from DA2 (with some improvements if needed)
- Some kind of sport to watch, prolly in the proving arena. Not just gladiatorial bloodsport, but an actual sport with teams and such.

Choose a hobby... Seriously, give me an option in my room or courtyard or wherever to take up a ho by or two. Alwasys thought my Wardens with Lelianna would learn an instrument to play with her, or my Inquisitor can choose to kick back to read or write or paint or something to unwind.

Thought of another one:
- Bring back the tactics system of DA:O/DA2. You can also keep the system of DA:I along with it, I suppose. DA:I is the simplified version, while the more indepth options would let us customize the AI for specific situations. Throughout all of DA:I I wanted to be able to tell Varric to only use longshot when an enemy was frozen, for example. I want to be able to set conditionals like that, if I so choose. I also want to be able to leave the tactics completely alone and still be able to survive outside of very specific circumstances. I believe its possible to have both.
I consider the above pie in the sky cus I doubt the AI is really gonna get an overhaul until the next game engine iteration. Although the skill system got an overhaul with those toggles, so who knows? Girl can dream.

It must be said. Dwarf Lovin!
Seriously, if we can have Qunari love surely we can get some dwarf love, both female & male bi. This way everyone can enjoy all that is dwarfiness!
Also, I would love to see upgradable armor and weapons. There are some armor and weapon models that I love; and I am very disappointed when I out level them. I would like to have the ability to level up the armor & weapons and/or switch out stats. If we could swap materials on an armor set or weapon that we really like, then this would make them both upgradable.
This also may seem weird, but I kind of miss the random encounters from Origins. For me that was a lot of fun. Also the faction side quests like assassination and thieving ones. It would be interesting if there were different faction quests depending on your class and/or race. It would certainly increase the replayability of the game for me.

And I hate to use the word, since devs don't like people thinking everything can be solved with this, but I do feel that this is something that can be used for a toggle. Have it default to off so the players they are concerned about disliking the feature might not ever know about it, but allow the option to be available somewhere.
At this point, after two games of paraphrases, continued insistence from a developer claiming that I don't know my own mind would just be insulting. But as I said, this only applies to me, and I'm sure that there are people who would find such a feature annoying. Hence the toggle. I am a pragmatist. I do NOT believe that a toggle can, or should, be used to solve every problem that every player has with whatever feature of the game. I just happen to think that, in this case, it can. Whether Bioware wants to use resources -- because of course these are required, it's not a simple "on/off" switch -- to implement it, or not, is another issue.
I definitely agree with you about the paraphrase.
I think that if Bioware is innovative and tries to solve a problem, most of the time they could find a solution. If Fallout can have a toggle for whether you have DA:I-style zoomed-out conversations or Shot-Reverse-Shot ones, Bioware can surely implement a toggle for whether the full line of a paraphrase appears at the top of the screen while highlighting said paraphrase. Deus Ex had that system, and people seemed to like it.

Okay, *deep breath*
1. Dual protagonist! 80% of the game is the new PC partnered with Dorian, doing the sort of things we've come to expect from DA: dungeons, a few large explorable areas, main plot missions. 20% will be non-combat missions involving the Inquisitor, very dialogue heavy and possible puzzle oriented. Ideally the Inquisitor will have access to some kind of war table mechanic that lets them make decisions that affect the new PC's gameplay, maybe even give them quests. The Inquisitor will naturally have one last conversation with Solas or two.
2. New base of operations for the new PC. I have two ideas. Either we'll be reporting to Dorian in his family estate or we'll have a large ship as our mobile command center.
3. Give me an Old God cult that isn't completely nuts. I want to learn more about the Old Gods and what they are. Not mention how the Qunari came to be.
4. 3-4 large explorable areas about the size of Crestwood. Minrathous, broken up into 3-4 diverse neighborhoods to help give the impression of a sprawling ancient city.
5. Oh, and race options for new PC
More ideas!
6. I want to second the playable card game idea, though maybe Tevinter has its own games rather than diamondback or wicked grace? I'd like those, but I also want to see Bioware try and produce a minigame to give Gwent a run for its money.
7. Mounted combat! In the name of making mounts enjoyable to use, I'm going to borrow some ideas from Hrungr and others on the thread I made: carriage chase segments like those found in AC2, the ability to pickup objects and listen to banter on mounts, faster mounts... and ultimately a grand charge of dracolisk mounted Tevinter cavalry (I really want to see this, almost as much as a Qunari D-Day landing...) I don't think a huge diversity of mounts like we had in DAI is actually necessary.
8. A return of more mage skill trees with a greater diversity of spells, balanced with additional weapon style trees for warriors and rogues. Rogues could have a tree for single one-handed weapon use for example.
9. A subplot involving Fenris' tattoos. Fenris himself need not appear, but I'd like to learn more about the lyrium tattoos he had. Has some other magister taken up the same research? Are they trying to make more like Fenris to combat the Qunari? It would be interesting, and if it has been refined so that the subject does not lose their memory, maybe it could be a warrior specialization.

Lol... I can imagine loading up the game just to play the game inside it.

Yes! Complete agreement! I have a minor head-canon about the method which I won't get into here, but that is to say that I think it has major potential as a story device.

I very much want BioWare to try something in the same vein as DA2 again, insofar that much of the game focuses on a major city, only with a more dynamic environment, and again using the day/night cycle so that the environment changes drastically throughout. DAI was sorely lacking a proper urban environment. I would love to see a major metropolis in Thedas in a next-gen game.

I'd love for Minrathous to be a mix between Witcher 3's Novigrad and Divinity's Reach from Guild Wars 2 as far as detail and city design goes. Maybe Bioware should hire an actual city planner for it? lol Or medieval town/castle expert or professor? (Professors are usually nerds, too, so they might do it for cheap.
)
I'd also love to actually revisit Kirkwall in all its "s***hole" glory in this new engine. But that's beyond pie-in-the-sky. We're basically getting into cake territory there.

That would be interesting. I'm interested in exploring any possible connections the markings have with the ancient elves. Since Tevinter cribbed so much from you-know-where... and vallaslin were originally you-know-what...

What would be your dream additions to the game for the next Dragon Age?
Not the small stuff, but the big gameplay changes that you could only dare-to-dream they'd put in.
1. Let us disable the protagonist's voice, and display the full text of dialogue.
2. Let us send the party out with a lineup that doesn't include the protagonist.
3. Let us create more than one party member.
4. Switch to a classless system.
5. Give us many more companions, so that we can experiment with different party compositions (this is even more important if we don't get #4).
6. Mod tools.
7. An optional fully turn-based combat system.
8. Use any party member as party spokesperson.

I also hope we see Eleni Zinovia again... maybe as an animate statue?
