I'd love to talk to Eloni Zinovia again. Isn't there something in DAI about her statue no longer being in Kinloch Hold? Maybe somebody in Tevinter seized an opportunity to reclaim her and took her back home.

(Forgive my brain blanking here, but who was the second golem we had? I mean, I know Sten can be pretty monotone, but... >_>)

That's right, it was mentioned Eleni had disappeared and David Gaider did say (admittedly, years ago) we'd see her again.

The 2nd golem was our temporary companion in Golems of Amgarrak.

I'd like to second your call for weather/night-day/seasonal changes. An in-game card game would also be a nice addition (though I dread the hundreds of threads insisting Gwent is so much better than Dragon Age card game because reasons).  I do enjoy Gwent, and I'm sure I'd enjoy Wicked Grace (or whatever) too.

One thing I really hope for that probably won't come to pass because it's becoming sadly prevalent lately: No more of this timed exclusivity stuff. Put out all new content for everybody at the same time. Stop accepting bribes to keep a third or half of your fanbase from playing a DLC for a month (or the entire game for a year).

More dwarves would be nice, too. I definitely want Scout Harding as a companion.

As a massive fan of Dragon's Dogma we need the boss battles, climbing on huge enemies and stabbing the h#ll out of them was incredible; we got the Harpoon weapon from Kingdoms of Amalur in DAI but split between Rogue and Warrior, in KoA you used the one weapon to drag small foe to you or to pull yourself to larger foes. KoA and DD also had the multiple class system where you could mould your own class with talents from all three Mage, Rogue and Warrior to create a hybrid class all your own. Also being able to switch from Melee to Ranged weapons or Spells as you like YES Please!!!

And flogging a very dead horse, better female hair styles and flattering/aesthetically pleasing armours and clothing options for all races and classes.

The return of the Radial Wheel for talents/Spells,

the Rivalry-Friendship meter for companions,

Alloting Attribute Points where YOU want not being dictated too.

The faster combat from DA2 and the Tactics and AI from DAO and DA2.

And getting a better body model for Male Elves (Shudder).

And as someone said on another thread, better romances where the companions could pursue you for a change. It felt strange to have my inquisitor throw herself at her romance interest, (borderline sexual harassment).

An option at the start of the game like the trials in DAI where you could tell the game to unlock the BI option for all romances for those who feel they didn't get to romance the companion they wanted due to orientation or racial bias.

There's so much I want... I'll list just a few things:
DW normal weapons for both warriors and rogues
Single weapon talent tree
Crossbows
More adult themes
Non-stereotypical villains
Murder-knife to make a comeback
Beards for elves
Warriors and rogues to be efficient without wearing armor
More weapon types (one-handed and two-handed polearms, flails, falchions...)

I could go on

You said pie in the sky... so, here are my "never going to happen" requests:

- 4:2 player made characters:NPCs in party.  I want a party made of multiple "main characters" that are involved in the story in various ways.  Single protagonist cRPGs are a waste of the genre on the medium.

- non-class character building.  Get rid of this rogue, mage, warrior crap.  Let me build my character from the ground up.  If I want to play a mage... let me buy the mage talents.  If I want my mage to be able to use a sword... armor... rogue skills - whatever - let me be a lesser mage with those skills.

- give me dwarven golem "mages".  Let's get real - Shale was basically a warrior mage.  She could heal... had AoE and ranged attacks... could be defensive... had auras... etc.  Dwarven mages should be golems.

- ask me about my character and build the story around that.  Instead of just interrogation trees aimed at your party... I want them to ask me a ton of questions.  THEN, I want the game to change depending on my answer.

Example:  NPC 1:  Do you have a good relationship with your parents?"

Answers: I never knew my parents.

Outcome:  You get an opportunity in the game to discover who your parents are leading you on a small quest chain.

Answer:  I love my parents very much.

Outcome:  The enemy uses them against you.

Answer:  No, my parents and I have never seen eye to eye.

Outcome:  The enemy conscripts them against you (with opportunity to reconcile)

Not the most inspire outcomes... but sufficient for illustration.

Interesting idea. So would each PC have different dialogue options? Would they all be present in the party at once or would they lead their own crews and the player's POV would switch between them each chapter?

People have recently been discussing the class versus non class systems. While a non class system could be interesting, at this point in Thedas, there still needs to be a distinction between mages and mundanes. So I'd be interested in a classless system, except that when creating the PC we would need to specify whether we have magic or not. And it's not something that can be learned later.

If we actually get a setting revamp and the Veil falls and everyone has access to magic, that would actually be a good argument for a classless system.

- give me dwarven golem "mages".  Let's get real - Shale was basically a warrior mage.  She could heal... had AoE and ranged attacks... could be defensive... had auras... etc.  Dwarven mages should be golems.

I know the golem companion in GoA was overpowered due to the high level nature of the DLC and to provide magical support for a non-mage Warden, but I thought it was cool how the dwarves were expanding golem's capabilities.

Interesting idea. It reminds me of a more dynamic background quest for Shepard in ME1, or the background dialogue with Josephine actually having some impact. It would be interesting if we could do this a few times, but I think it would become exhausting if every time we were given branching dialogue, events changed. Keep it sparse but powerful.

Ohohoho, I thought of this in the other thread. It'd be cool to have a DA flavored re-tread of MotB.

I know I'm the minority, but I really don't want that to happen. I could live with her being a companion, since there is always someone I don't like anyway (oddly enough, it happened to be all of the females rogues so this would continue that trend), but if she was one of the romance options, well... that would be very disappointing indeed.

4. Switch to a classless system.

Ah... class vs classless - the eternal debate.  ;)

Each has it's pros and cons. I do love the classless system in ES with all my little, black, power-gaming, FusRoDah-ing heart (I DO ALL THE THINGS!!), but in a party-based RPG... I still slightly prefer the discrete classes.

Allowing hybrid classes to be a more distinct thing would be good, though.

Warrior could have Spirit Warrior (Warrior/Mage) or Duelist (Warrior/Rogue) etc.  Allow player to choose a spec (as with previous installments) or choose a hybrid class.  Could add a great deal of replayability.

I agree, and I liked that ME had hybrid classes by default. You had Soldier, Engineer, and Adept, then Infiltrator (Soldier/Engineer), Sentinel (Engineer/Adept), and Vanguard (Soldier/Adept).

Discrete classes can be great, but I would want many more of them, and the freedom to assemble the party as I see fit, without being constrained by a small selection of pre-written companions.

The main reason I asked for a classless system was so I could avoid the problem we have now where there's only a very limited number of ways to use each character.

Something similar to Pillars of Eternity and the ability to 'hire' - create - random adventurers of any race/class/background you like?

Yes. I love hybrid classes and they were high on my original DAI wishlist (War/Rog, War/Mag, Mag/Rog). If I'm going Pie-In-The-Sky here, I'd wish for all 6 classes (3 core/3 hybrid), each with 3 specs. And being able to repec to a "neighboring" hybrid/core class if I wanted to.

Like ES hirelings? But I agree, I'd love to see more breadth to the character builds (eg. adding hybrid classes).

I was thinking more in terms of being able to create more than one right from start, like in ToEE or Wizardry 8.

But hirelings or an adventurer's guild would work, too.  I just don't want to be deprived a certain class or combat role because the writers didn't happen to provide one.

They really should improve their combat design. Just have a mix of combo-based combat, motion capture, different fighting style for each class and set up a button system that's fits combat and RPG.

Got more:
Return of Blood Mage, Arcane Warrior and Spirit Healer specs
Very few open world areas, but way more populated
Minrathous as a full-blown open world city
Fewer romance options (like, 2 str8 'n' 2 bi or 2 str8 'n' 2 gay, no more than 4)
Return of 2 weapon slots so we can switch between them, like in DAO
More beard options
No mounts
The MC to be a badass normal and not a chosen one
An all new cast
DA4 to take place in Tevinter, Par Vollen and the Anderfels

This. But my pie-in-the-sky wish would be more like... 4 full gear sets I could cycle through. That way, I can don my Electric Gear, Dragon Gear, Ranged Gear, Melee Gear, and so on.

And while I've learned to live with the 8 ability slot limitation on the PC... oh to see the return to the way it was in the previous games (full screen width of slots).

While not Pie-In-The-Sky necessarily, I really miss the "Heroic Accomplishments" Stats Page we had in Origins.

Kills, % of World Explored, Total Damage Dealt, Biggest Hit, Number & Types of Things Killed, Deaths, Deaths by Water ;), and so on...

My dream wish list:

  • Way more spell trees (for example: ice, fire, lightning, earth all getting their own trees, along with entropy, spirit, blood, etc.)
  • Bring back spell combos, like Storm of the Century
  • Make stealth a skill that can be used out of combat, along with pickpocketing, bring back traps, trap making, make lock picking useful again
  • More hidden areas, riddles, puzzles (DA:I was a step in the right direction, I just want more)
  • A customizable GUI like what SWTOR has with the interface editor
  • No sideburns or receding hairlines for women's hairstyles, please, please, please
  • The dark haired female character we meet near the beginning of the game, who is tied to the main plot, and will inevitably be the most attractive to me...make her a bisexual romance option, and let her talk about her attraction to women, this would be very nice, thanks in advance
  • More dwarven stuff, if we could go to Kal-Sharok, that would be awesome
  • Cats

I think we'll get maybe one or two of these things, but any more would be pretty sweet.
