So for everyone who said its a good idea to kill the Rachnai queen in ME1. Boo to you. I saved them because I felt they would play a role later on down the road in the trilogy. Just talked to a Asari on Illiam (shes to the left of Liara's office, after you meet with Gianna Parasini) and the asari delivered the message of thanks and that our voices will unite to turn the dark into light. HA! I knew they would come in handy!
The Rachnai.

yup, something about having the queen give me the loyalty of her entire species as a personal army made me feel quite spiffy.

Yay.
She tells you that the Rachni queen is thankful, didn't she tell us that in person on Noveria?

Yeah the queen did say that on Noveria, but it was nice to hear it again. Pretty much shows the entire race of the Rachnai loves you. Thought that was cool.

I agree, it is pretty nifty.
I just wish they would have took it deeper, like visit the Rachnis' new home world.

Yeah but im sure the Rachni will show up later in the game or with some DLC or something. I mean the game is 2 discs haha.

Which I don't understand.
I mean Fallout, and Oblivion are much bigger games it seems, and they fit on 1 disc.
I do hope to learn more about the Rachni though.

Fallout and oblivion were big games yes. But they werent as pretty as this one haha. Plus I think this games scale is more massive than we think. I mean it wouldnt be on 2 discs unless it were a HUGE world to explore.

Yea thats a huge parts. The models are waaaaaay more detailed and so since every single object has a lot more bits of information that adds up fast. Also, the physics are a lot more complex in this game and it has approximately 3 billion cut scenes.

Posté 28 janvier 2010 - 06:00
Yeah there are tons of cut scenes. However the story is so in depth and interesting I dont mind them one bit. Unlike Metal Gear Solid, where the story is bland and BORING AND LONG cut scenes you cant skip. ME1 & 2 are deff the only games where I have ever cared so much about characters or my choices.

I think an army is going to be gathered soon. Rachni will come in handy against the Reapers, and the Krogan under Wrex. Hopefully the citadel will listen finally.

I agree. Saving the Rachni and Wrex. Along with im sure helping cure the genophage (to an extent) we will have 2 massive forces behind us at some point. Since this is a trilogy im sure those 2 will play a huge role in what im sure will be a HUGE battle in ME3. Even though I feel the Rachni will help in some way in ME2. I sure do love being a paragon haha. Its fun to be a renegade at times. But being a paragon is what makes you stronger I feel.

Question to those who were expecting more: you release one queen. It's been two years. The fact that they apparently have ships again at all is a miracle. Were you expecting them to raise an army from a single individual in only two years?
#15
Posté 28 janvier 2010 - 07:23
Answer.....They are Rachni. So insects, be it massive insects but insects none the less. Reproducing would be quick. So I would answer yes, I do believe they could raise an army in 2 years. They are going to play a role in the game sometime. Be it ME2 or 3 they will be there.

I'm not asking what the outcome will be, I'm asking people who felt let down by the encounter with the asari whether or not they might have been expecting too much for only two years.
Myself, I always expected nothing to come of the rachni until ME3.

So, is Rachni to be found at all in ME2 if you saved the queen in ME1 ?
#19
Posté 28 janvier 2010 - 07:52
There is no presence of Rachni in ME2. If you saved them, good for you, you get a 20% booster to surviving ME3 and eradicating the Reaper threat. All you renegades out there who didn't save her, seems you got a tougher fight. I mean being a jackass is fun and all, but it only seems to get you places in the long run on Omega. It just pisses the other bad guys off everywhere else.
But yea, the Rachni will help you immensily in ME3. The queen stated that their songs will join with yours to take on the Reaper threat. So I
'd all the way to Liara's office after that, only to be disappointed at the utter **** Liara has become.

actually a lot of the space is taken up by the extra language tracks.
Anyways looking forward to ME3 with my army of krogan, rachni, geth, and the quarian fleet haha.

Ohyea, I forgot that if you can prevent the Quarians from condemming Tali, you can get their aid.
I lol'd when that Admiral **** basically sent you a passive aggressive message of NICE TO MEET YOU, THANKS FOR NOT TELLING US ABOUT THE GETH, NOW I HAVE MY OWN ARMY HURRR DURRR!
I just walked up to Legion and helped him free his people without them knowing, and then they all want to help you now. Ahhh..... ****ing quarians..... minus Tali, Tali is cool.... yea

Only thing that bugged me about that quest is that I got renegade points for having the Asari deliver the message "be good."
I didn't expect Shep to sound like a bit of a jerk when he said it. I expected a semi-joking quip or something like that.

Bottom right option is always the renegade/jerk choice. If you're unsure, pick middle right.

Yeah, I figured as much, but I thought there might have been some kind of discrepancy, as in the aftermath of the collectors ship attack, I picked the "Cerberus was right" option (which was middle right or top right, if I recall) and presumably got renegade points for it.
Plus, it didn't sound very jerk-ish in my head the way it was presented in text.
