There is also a lack of varieties - inquisition doesn't feature: drake, dragon thrall, mature dragon and normal dragons. and I really wanted dragon thrall to be back since Awakening.
But hey. We had Cory's red lyrium dragon, which was cool.

It's not called Dragon Age because it has dragons, it's called Dragon Age because that's the name of the time period in which it takes place.
I did not know that btw that's the second time i learn something more about the game thanks to you.
Thank you for that ![]()

It would've been nice if there were a few more dragons to fight. The best part was the music.
As I said in another thread, I like to see a much larger dragon to fight in the next game that has the capability to crush the character with its foot/leg/whatever. Even have it grab the character by the mouth like in DAO.
Maybe to make up for it in the next game. a dragon can be recruited as a companion. hahahaha

It's called Dragon Age because they saw two dragons flying around near the beginning of the age and figured: "Whoa, extinct lizards flying in the sky? This is totally the most interesting thing that will happen in this age, so let's call it "Dragon Age". Much cooler than Sun age.
Or something about the dragons being an omen or something.
The first game had a whooping number of 3 big dragons, and one of them was a shapeshifter and the other was an archdemon. The DLC added 2 big dragons "grease lightning" and "please let me die in peace you jerk". .
The second game had one high dragon, maybe five small dragons and a basket full of dragonlings. And shapeshifter dragon.
So the dragons are multiplying! And then you go and kill them. You monster.

Well we were able to tame a dragon in DAI; the alternative Morrigan shapeshifting into one. I was rather disappointed the dragon in Trespasser wasn't mentioned in the Keep because I thought it might have been rather good to encounter it at a later stage and if it had been treated well previously, the new PC would be capable of taming it. That is still a possibility for a future dragon encounter; it is not necessary always to kill the critters we meet.
I thought that pretty much one dragon per major area we visit was enough. After all one area had 3 of them. I thought it odd that there were suddenly so many dragons. We went from a situation where they were thought to be nearly extinct, the one where they were just about everywhere. This may have something to do with the plot of the comic series where Yavana was apparently awakening dragons, but it would have been helpful to have had that explained in game.

i have red your other thread i think it was in one of my OP's and yes i would like that to an Ultimate Dragon
Yes that would be cool to a Dragon as companion you standing in the middle of the battlefield surrounded by the enemy and then you "whistle" and your Dragon is coming to the rescue and all the enemy flee in every direction i can see it before me ![]()

Those are not Dragons, they are High Dragons and they are rare. I think there are too many in the game.
And no, they are not fun to fight. It's just a hackfest spamming the same moves over and over on the same health bar.

I must agree with this. That one cool and tough Dragon. It makes Inquistions Dragon fights seem like squishing flies.

As was mentioned, "Dragon" is the name of the current Age, much like the "Divine" Age, "Blessed" Age, and "Towers" Age.
Ages are always named after something. At the end of The Stolen Throne, Loghain Mac Tir sees a High Dragon before the Battle of River Dane.
Dragons were previously thought hunted to extinction by the Nevarran Dragon Hunters (The Pentaghast family being one of the more famous, though as Cassandra says, she is the only person in the family during this Age to not sit on her butt and bask in the glory of her ancestors) a few centuries ago (The Steel Age).
Thus, the Age was named after Dragons, due to the fact that they have returned from the dead. The Chantry originally intended for this Age to be the Sun Age (the appearance of Dragons obviously changing the current Divine, Faustine II's, opinion on naming it).

Yes my mistake but you and that other guy are completely right when it comes to that Dragon "Age" thing. I did not think things through when i made this OP sorry for that in my defense English is not my day to day language i know it is not a good excuse but it's the only one i have ![]()

The closest the game came to this was at Adamant when the RLD clung to the side of the fortress and stuck it's head in to blast you. But even this was just a scripted event, not a true fight where you had to beat it back by attacking it's claws or casting Ice Wall to block out the lyrium blast.

I was wondering why are there such a few Dragons in a game called Dragon Age i have only Inquisition and then i count 10 regular Dragons plus the one Corypheus controls plus a possible 12 Dragon and when you have the DLC's the counter will stop at 14 Dragons that is not very much for a "Dragon Age" gameThoughts ?edit. There should be at least 50 Dragons in Inquisition
I remember that in primary school we were watching the amount of terrain that some meat eating dinosaur from Africa (I do not remember the name xd) needed to haunt successfully. Imo, it makes sense that there are 10 dragons in the areas available for us. If there were more, we would all forget that the game is not about killing dragons. Not to mention that we always hear that dragons had been haunt down. I was surprised to learn that there are still over 10 and nobody took care of them.

More than a bit... We would not be able to move around the maps without encountering dragons...
