If you're on PC, well there's always space magic

I heartily endorse this. It's super effective!
In all seriousness, I love this game and love the gameplay, but after having to deal with the manifest grind once, I just don't have the heart to go through it again. If you haven't really played MP in any platform, it does pay to put in the hours. You will learn how to play effectively and will make you appreciate the new kits even more.
Before you start getting IV ammo troll card drops, you can influence the store to give you unlocks. The store isn't really trolling that hard until you get near the end where you're dealing with Rares and Ultra Rares.

Oh man I never even finished my oblivion play through, I forgot all about the main story and just got lost in all the little side missions
I only got into the series with Skyrim. I'm not a huge fan of FP-RPGs. (Actually I quite dislike first person for RPG's. Doesn't feel as immersive.) Since Skyrim introduced third person I was able to get into it. Although I found aiming spells and particularly arrows I'd have to be in first person for real accuracy. Also found out arrows, even if they hit, have a maximum range for damage.
I did also get rather lost in all the pretty and side missions. I do want to go back to it some day and finish that actual main quest though. Just redownloaded it and found out all my mods are still working too after a rather large unexpected purge of my downloads folder and it's friends. (hurray)
Still want to get my khajiit archer up high. Night Vision + Archery was pretty fun with an assassin playstyle.

Tell me more.
Some say that he used to be a Cerberus trooper, but he was kicked out when he tried to eat The Illusive Man.
Some say that all his pot plants are called Steve.. and that he has a life size tattoo of his face.. on his face.
Some say, that he once co-presented a Brazilian show about blimp disasters, and that once, he actually punched God.
Some say he's wanted by the Spectres, and that he sleeps upside down like a bat.
Some say he can swim seven lengths under water, and he has webbed buttocks.
Some say that his voice can only be heard by Hanar, and that he has two sets of knees.
Some say he knows two facts about vorcha, and that both of them are wrong.
We just call him "Crashsuit".

I kind of want to hack myself a bunch of credits but then I don't, I guess because I don't mind not having the top tier guns since they're all about equally effective on the lower difficulties. But at the same time this game's manifest is really bloated and goddamn is it ever frustrating getting levels for bad weapons or character appearance options instead of new characters.
There very few truly bad weapons. And you only need one or two good ones to be able to make a real contribution to the game.
for example, on my alt, about 30 hours in, I have a Wraith (goes on my QFE) and a Valkyrie (goes on my Turian Soldier). Both are pretty damn effective on Gold, although the latter has some L2P needs (specifically: headshots headshots headshots).
Just because there are 65 characters and a similar number of weapons doesn't mean you need them all. I know one very good player who pretty much exclusively plays Harrier QFE and she's beastly. Presumably she doesn't even care about the other stuff she's unlocked and enjoys playing that one kit.

Oblivion has third person, just scroll the mouse wheel to zoom perspective in and out

I too, would really like to start playing ME3MP again. Played years ago on the 360 and bought it again on PC just for the MP a couple months ago. The lack of controller support put me off(wasn't great with keyboard at the time and I'm still not at my best with it) and then the reminder of just how bad it is to unlock stuff and having to re-get everything I had on the 360 put a stop to me playing it. Gonna try it again after getting back into DAIMP and having fun.

LOL,
Started playing in Oct 2015, after a three year hiatus. Also had to create a new account and like you had to start all over again.
Unlocked my FURY girl in Dec, after playing with the human soldier class to get my in-game money/points. I play her well against Cerberus. Early grinding was with my human soldier class (about 1.5 months). My intent is to max my points to be able to level up my Carnifex/Paladin and other gear.
This grinding is frustrating and I expect Andromeda MP to be the same with micro$transaction incentives, of course.
