Hi,

I am kind of new to forums, but it was suggested I try them as a way to discuss fan theories. I just completed DAI and was browsing that forum as saw a humorous ME reference. This made me start to think what if the planet Thedas is on somehow could also, albeit minutely, mentioned in MEA. This could be done similar to how Parnack has been mentioned, but never visited. A hint that maybe an evolved Thedas exists in the ME universe (even if it wasn't official canon).

Note: Aside from the first teaser I am blind about the upcoming game, because I like going into narratives with minimal knowledge as possible. I will watch a teaser trailer, but not an actual trailer, because they tend to spoil most of it.

No thanks.

Leave the c-team Dragon Age stuff in that series.

Bioware makes references for fun but when I asked Dragon Age producer Mike Laidlaw on twitter he pretty much said no.

Easter eggs are one thing. The two universes ever being tied together? Never.

I don't want a Mass Effect + Dragon Age mash-up game.  Well, I take that back, if BioWare creates like a DOTA type game, then yes. Have all of your popular and loved characters in it.

But don't want to see Shepard and Hawke teaming up to take out some big bad of the universe.

While playing ME2 again, I noticed a lot of DA and ME interchange.....

Mass Effect "Fade" : the Alias of Harkin, the guy that was hiding Sidonis on Garrus's ME2 loyalty mission.

Dragon Age "Fade": fairly obvious.

Mordin Solus: sounds a lot like Solas.

And that's about it,.

EDIT: I know I said I noticed a lot. It'll come back to me!

I think I need to clarify my point.

What if we encountered a planet that was a Space-faring Thedas. You wouldn't encounter the same characters, but species (Qunari, Elves, and Dwarves). The species could even be evolved forms of their DA counterparts.

Even if it was a non-canon dlc similar to pinnacle station I think it would be really interesting.

If they are doing something similar to ME1 exploration it could be one of the planets you could land on, but with minimal species interaction so in the next DA there is a codex reference referring to this bizarre encounter as a legend.

Alternatively the planet has become a wasteland with just various ruins scattered. It would be a form of a Real Long Easter Egg.

I'll back up Revan Reborn and say - easter eggs are one thing. Seeing an ogre statue or a mounted krogan head in the background of a scene is one thing. Establishing the DA setting as canonically existing within the Mass Effect setting is another thing entirely. And there's no polite way to state what a terrible idea it would be. It's just about the dumbest, cheapest, most desperate thing I could imagine them doing.

I've seen this in books, planets where "magic" worked or a planet where they resembled elves and got tired of the elf jokes; a short dwarves type that honored their dead warriors by eating them; planets filled with one type of civilization - militant, religious, science,  but I'm not sure how it would work with ME and DA.  They could probably pull it off.

Hey, welcome to the forums, OP! :D

I'll just echo what others have said. Easter eggs are cool and fun, but I'd rather not have it go beyond those circumstances.

I wouldn't mind the occasional Easter Egg, but they should keep the two game universes separate. Magic and dragons and Elven gods would just be out of place in the Mass Effect universe.

Oh yeah, You make a good point. I forgot about the whole magic thing.

I have a hard time discerning good writing from bad writing. I honestly don't see anything wrong with COD campaign's for instance (I'm probably the only one who plays it for the campaign), or other typically lack luster writing.

Although I do have some comments about Skyrim's civil war arc and story in general.

They're already too connected and have too much in common as it is.
