I hope people get their hair options, but we need a bangin red head on the ship.  Kelly Chambers was great in ME2.....ME3 fixed that real quick  .  Red heads are under appreciated.

"ME3 fixed [what] real quick"?

I assume your Kelly Chambers was killed by Cerberus? If you tell her to change her identity before Cerberus takes over the Citadel, she will use a blonde wig and change her identity to survive.

Also, default FemShep is a redhead. Not to mention, Leliana is also a redhead. Tallis is a readhead as well... I'm seeing a trend.

BioWare has done more redheads than you give them credit. I'd rather see more racial diversity among the human cast and crew members than just different hair-colored Caucasians.

Fixed her being hot.  She was nasty in ME3.  I was impressed by ME2 because short hair on a female is about as unattractive as it gets for me, but ME2 Kelly Chambers was still nice IMO.

I don't know anything about Tallis.  I mean I know its a DLC in DA2, but I never bought it or played it.  After DA: I I'm done with the Dragon Age series for good.  It's ME or bust from here on out for me....I will be checking into the new IP though.

I'll give them credit for Leliana.  Good work on her.

Whoohooaaaa I want this! !! And it better flow EXACTLY like THAT!   :D

Do you want the framerate to tank to single digits on all but the most beastly PCs and poor consoles to explode in a display of ineptitude? Because hair physics like that will make those things happen  :P.

Hairworks and TessFX are notorious ressource hogs. I remember that putting Hairworks on Geralt alone in TW3 tanks the framerate by 10 FPS in cutscenes, and putting it on everything results in the game being nigh on unplayable on anything that isn't cutting edge hardware. TressFX in Tomb Raider was even worse, I could have all other option on High and run the game with a higher framerate than if I put nigh on everything on low and enabled TressFX.

I'd be mostly fine with slightly longer hair and more stylish short hair style. But I don't expect anything crazy, long hair doesn't really fit in with the military theme Mass Effect has for its protagonists.

Honestly, Kelly had such a minor role that I don't believe BioWare really dedicated the resources to her looking decent in ME3. It came across as if she was tacked on just for those who happened to prevent her from becoming genetic paste in the Collector base. They could have done a better job, but she had maybe four or five lines of dialogue?

Tallis was nothing special ("ooh YouTube celebrity Felicia Day playing a character in Dragon Age"), but I was just reinforcing the point that BioWare typically does have at least one redhead in their games somewhere. The new IP should be interesting and hopefully we'll get some information about it at E3 and not just MEA.

Leliana is easily one of my favorite BioWare characters. She was a bit superficial, at first, in DAO. However, her darker past as an assassin really helped to flesh out her character. I like how she matured into a more pragmatic and independent person in DAI. It's sad, but she and Morrigan were far more interesting to talk to than most of the companions in DAI.

Really? You mean games like The Witcher 3 were not so good with the hair? I played it on my ps4 and it looked stunning :P But I can't speak for the other consoles of course. I think I remember Tomb Raider being pretty well done as well but maybe that's just me lol xD

I just want long hair dammmmmmittt.

I agree. My new protagonist would look perfect with a full head of hair flowing in the wind.

In Mass Effect: Revelation prose novel it is stated that natural blondes are rare in the ME Universe.

What does natural blondes being "rare in the ME Universe" have anything to do with redheads? I'm not following.

Mods aren't exactly better either unless you want ridiculous/over-the-top anime hair. Finding a happy medium can be incredibly difficult.

What benefit there is making different kind of armour? Cool different weapons? Personalization at all? Is a part of the CC that have to be better made, and players have every right to ask for it.

                                                                                       <<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>>

You can ask all you want.

In looking at fan requests, Bio will ask themselves these questions (from a Bioware employee  post, btw).

1. How much time is needed

2. How many resources are required

3. What is the cost?

4. What is the benefit to Bioware?

Q1

Any changes or additions will impact task scheduling, which may impact the launch date. There is tight scheduling for cut-scene rendering at EA's computer graphics rendering "farms".  Graphic rendering takes a long time and EA has many games in development (ie: Mirror's Edge, UFC 2.. etc). You won't be able to bump off rendering another studio's game just because of your request. You need to schedule time at these "farms". So how much time is needed?

Q2

Resources such as artists, writers, level designers, programmers, QA staff, cut-scene cinematics staff, maybe even mocap time (and of course the mocap studio is idle just waiting for work) are currently working on the "approved" game. You want to interrupt that work and re-assign resources .  So, how does this re-assignment negatively impact the current game schedule?

Q3

Add all of this up and what's the cost to Bio?

Q4

At the end, what's the benefit to Bio for implementing your request?

Another hair thread? These forums in a nutshell. Clearly Bioware need to give us another trailer so there's something new to talk about.

If we don't have a regular dose of threads about hair, romance, or gay/trans/bi companions, we aren't living up to the legacy of BSN.

The amount of shaved head options in Inquisition always makes me chuckle.

I rather have nothing to talk about now, then to have to deal with endless threads of "BioWare misled us" or "BioWare could have made a better game with..." like what happened with Inquisition.  I think it will still be about four months until we really get anything new.

I totally agree! But who goes into combat with long hair?  Demi Moore proved that point in G.I. Jane. Why can't an off-duty hair style be chosen as an option, just as Shep could choose an off-duty garment. Kirstie Alley as Saavik in ST: TWoK is a good example here. A full-fledged woman can be a warrior with a little coy ingenue side to her. I love being mildly sexy while kicking-butt too. Rey, Ashley (ME-3), and Xena.

I don't think it necessarily has to be long flowing hair, (Which I personally love, and would love on a female MC) but rather just stylish and feminine looking at the very least. Give us some nice punk and rocker chick hair, Ciri hair, some Grecian, some French updo styles, anything.

ME was better, because at least I understand Shep having more no nonsense hair due to being a career military woman, but they could have given a few feminine options, something like Ash ME3 and Miranda hair for those who would have wanted it with no harm done to the narrative.

Let's not forget that long hair styles would just be optional. No need to criticize if it's an option you would not choose anyway.

Of course no one wants to have it be a cause of tearing and low frame rates. So for those of us who'd like to wear longer manes, BW could always make the recommended graphics card a GTX980 Ti. Problem solved.
