I just noticed an identical "Better Hair" forum thread from last June/July 2015. Bourne Endeavor referenced a link to hair mods posted on the web site girlplaysgames. Everything that's old is new again.

There are some nice feminine hair styles worth considering for many preferences.  This one shows dozens of hair styles that I like.

This page shows some nice hair styles in Skyrim with modded jewelry too. I don't want ME:A to be a fashion show, but these mods pose some interesting ideas. Perhaps some aliens could wear jewelry, and like Sha'ira's prothean trinket, something like this could have a utility in discoveries found on planets; solving a mystery, etc.

Not likely to happen. Keep in mind the protagonist is still part of the military, and having loosely, worn down hair is not allowed in real world armed forces. People seem to forget you are playing a soldier/explorer fighting alien forces. This isn't a fashion show or America's Top Model.

Almost all of these are terrible. They're either absurd, overly effeminate(for the male) or completely hipstery. Whoever's making those is clearly more concerned with Shepard looking like a runway model(with a dedicated team of hair and makeup people) than an actual soldier.

I see the point of her not being able to wear it loosely down since she's a soldier but they could at least make some of the worn up and tied back hairstyles a little bit more loose looking instead of making them so damn tight and flat. And perhaps a stylish ponytail, that's definitely allowed.

I would like the option to have different hairstyles for combat and non-combat situations. A tight bun for combat and a ponytail(or something else less "tactical") the rest of the time would be great.

Hopefully BioWare doesn't go for 80 variations of shaved or 'who would even do this to their hair' styles. Having to mod a half-decent style was bleh. A mix of modern and plain styles would be best. Actually having natural red hair would be nice, too. Not 3 different types of dyed red, pink, purple, and... whatever the last hair color for femshep in 3 is.
Did anyone actually use the pink and purple hair colors on a srs character?

Don't forget gray hair for young characters. In DA:O, you could create a positively ancient-looking guy and everybody acts like you're a kid.

You know, I actually thought about that as well, it's a good idea. I would have loved to see my female character let her hair loose during the sex scenes for example, I think that would be a nice element if added but not sure if it's that easy.

It shouldn't be any harder than changing the character's outfit during specific scenes. If the outfit can change based on the situation then so could the hair.

Then they should definitely implement that. I'd love to see such changes in between scenes, it would make the whole thing much more realistic.

I like hair. Pretty hair. But, I also like pretty practical hair. I wear a lot of different pretty practical updos when I'm active. Braids are awesome to achieve both practical and pretty. Pretty practical updo braids (say that 3 times fast) are also easy for developers to include in the game. I know cause I've seen 'em. So, BW, please include an active style conscious woman on your hair team and you'll be good on the hair front. Please.  :P Please.

I rather have nothing to talk about now, then to have to deal with endless threads of "BioWare misled us" or "BioWare could have made a better game with..." like what happened with Inquisition.  I think it will still be about four months until we really get anything new.

                                                                                       <<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>>

They did mislead. If they've taken the backlash to heart then it's a good thing.

However, the game's promotional campaign has yet to start in earnest.... we'll see how it goes then. In the mean time, like you, I'd rather hear nothing rather than overblown hype that the game is unable to deliver.

Kai Leng had the best hair. That's the only good thing I can say about the character

The hairstyles weren't too bad in ME.

he is just a badly written character regardless of their desired character archetype and he had great hair

Inquisition had some stupid hairstlyes, I think its a limitation of the Frostbyte engine. I dont think Frostbyte has any built in hair psysics or support, so Bioware had to get creative and give us shaved and short hairstlyes. Hopefully Bioware upgraded the engine and we get better character creation options.

Ehhhh no. Don't totally blame Frostbite. Remember the eyeroll-inducing freak show that was the DAO and DA2 CC. Honestly, the truth is the folks at BioWare just don't know hair. I swear to god we have a frigging mullet in every game. I shudder to picture what these people look like in real life, at least in terms of their hair lol What they need to do is hire someone from outside the industry who can give them tips on good-looking hair. Because they haven't a freaking clue (in either game).

Gosh dat hair. I would've killed to make a Shepard who looked like Kai Leng. He was adorable. (And agree with the previous poster, that's about all the good you can say about his character lol)

Nope. It's a cheesy space opera. Some long hair wouldn't be too out of place.

I seriously want that pony tail-bangs combo, BioWare.

C'mon. When Shepard gave that final speech in ME2, I'm pretty sure a few lactose intolerant Collectors died somewhere.

There are cheesier space operas out there....

But on a scale between Pern and Asimov in a dry mood, Mass Effect is closer to Pern.

It's 2016 where's the pubes realism in today's modern RPG romance sub plots already? Also please don't make it look as obvious as your everyday merkin.

Well, google says cheese is cheap, unpleasant, or blatantly inauthentic. I'd say Mass Effect is none of those.
