Excited to see if Andromeda is as rich with amusing little nuggets of non-essential, but appreciated little things like:

The Shifty Cow, the Prothean sphere on Eletania, the Rogue VI's plea of 'help',

Rebekah and Michael, popping the pyjak on Tuchanka, the videos at the Shadow Broker's ship,

"Please don't touch that",  the historical recordings in the Citadel Archives.

There are so much more I know, but its just these tiny things I felt added so much to the already richly drawn Milky Way galaxy, that I'd love to see included in some way in exploring Andromeda.

I'd love it if we found something as random as a Shifty Cow whilst exploring new planets again.

What other little easter egg type things in the previous trilogy did you like, and anything you'd maybe be interested seeing referenced or any new little things you'd imagine would be cool to stumble upon?

My faves:  In ME2 - The art in Hock's vault and Kasumi's comments about it, the "Nezo" in ME1 and the "Don't touch that" sequence in ME3.  I also liked the Citadel DLC for it's tendency to poke fun at most of the rest of the game in some way.

I'm pretty sure they'll be more of these sort of things in ME:A... As for predicting... I'd rather let them surprise me.

The Shifty Looking Cow was great, one of my favorites. I didn't actually realized it existed until I read about it online. I usually just ran over the space cows. Though the Hammerhead kept reminding me that "targeting systems do not require local wildlife to calibrate."

I also enjoyed coming across the Rachni song on various planets. Very haunting.

Subtle finds and surprises like these really make the game for me. I'm looking forward to finding more in Andromeda.

The Rachni song on Luna was very cool and nicely creepy. It really is little details like that they can flesh out the world. Then there is conversations like between an asari and her lover in ME3. "So that must have been someone else that pinned me to the wall with her mouth." Considering how grim a lot of ME3 was, that little laugh was perfect.

I do hope that there's a lot of amusing NPC chatter that makes me pause to listen like we had in the past. Also, I have a deep love of derelict spacecraft. I hope we come across a few of them here and there, complete with creepy computer logs, star maps that chart anomalies or contain odd artifacts, etc..

No feces analyzer = no buy

If the time frame for the main game is right I bet the recording Liara made in ME3 will be somewhere.  If not this game, a future one.

I like the "alpha" versions of races that were included in the MP.  I'd like to see some of those return.

Sha'ira's prothean trinket

It could have been put to more integral use in Shepard's travels: a key to activating Vigil, for a terminal for destroying or preventing the destruction of the Collector Base, to activate the Crucible, and as a war asset. Sha'ira: "[It is a] small mystery. I have never learned its use or purpose, but I sense it is time for me to pass it on." A golden opportunity that was wasted on Eletania.

I was just thinking about this the other day. What references/easter eggs they would put in ME:A from the 1st three games or just other little random details from this new galaxy.

I feel like if ME:A is going to make any direct reference to the original trilogy, finding the capsule of Liara's will be it, and it would be an awesome and perfect find! I'd imagine it wouldn't be intact or something, not all of the recording working, so that it blurs the bits about Shepard for canon purposes!

Finding that would also be a perfect opportunity to open the nostalgia floodgates some more, by having 'Vigil' kick in upon discovery of the capsule!

Why would a capsule that was meant for the next cycle of species in the Milky Way find its way in the Andromeda galaxy? That's a long way from home... Not to mention, the likelihood of it actually traveling from the Milky Way to Andromeda are probably not that likely.

I think there will be references to the original trilogy (probably largely in codex), but I don't believe the capsule will be one of them.

I know it wouldn't make sense logically for the capsule to be there, I'm sure you could apply a host of reasons as to why if I thought about it, much like the numerous theories as to the how , when and why of us getting to the Andromeda galaxy, I just personally think it would be a neat little find, as a means of referencing the original trilogy.

While I'm sure the Codex will have references as well, I'm hoping there are more, albeit small and not tied into the main plot.

They could have put a copy of the capsule on the ark as a warning, and an explanation of why the ark is leaving the MW.

They could find it tucked away in some corner of the ARK itself.  Construction workers have been leaving little mementos hidden in the structures of what they build for decades.  (You just never know what you'll find when you renovate something.)

That won't be possible if the ARK departs the Milky Way before ME3 begins. If you recall, Liara doesn't even finish the various capsules until near the end of ME3. I cannot think of one legitimate reason why the ARK would have Liara's capsule, let alone contact with anyone from the Milky Way once the events of ME3 are underway.

Yeah it departs, but it is my understanding that the main part of the game takes place way after that?

I guess we are just going off of hints, guesses, and rumors at this point though.

Don't think Easter Eggs necessarily make perfect logical sense... Like finding a "Nezo" and a guy wearing aviation goggles on Agebinium made perfect sense.

And I have faith in Biowares ability to retcon their way out of any problem.

Totally, I'd really like to see the Volus make a return in ME:A as well.

... and sometimes I think it's just better if they don't bother retcon'ing all the little chuckles they might put into the game... it just adds needless bulk to the Codex and a bunch of white rabbits for the player to sort through to sift out what is and what isn't a major plot element.  For example, the player was just as well off with totally wondering how Hock wound up with Lady Liberty's head than with having a whole ficitonalized back story to tell us how Lady Liberty lost her head in the first place.   The backstory adds nothing to the "easter egg" feel the player gets the first time they click on the status and get Kasumi's "Damn you, Hock!" line.

As for whether or not Liara's capsule might make it onto the ARK probably does depend on what the actual timeline boils down to be... but we don't really know what that actual timeline is yet, do we?... other than we've been told that the events within ME:A take place far into the future from the events in ME3.  and we don't yet know if the game will allow for any time rifts occurring either?  But that doesn't really matter.  Part of the "easter egg" feel in finding one of Liara's capsules might be just in wondering how "on earth" it got there... without ever getting any retcon'd answer at all.

"Oh, all right, it's a Hanar urinal. Knock yourself out."

Sometimes not knowing why something happens, or why something is there, evokes more of a reaction that getting an explanation behind it, yes.

I always think of the film The Birds in this aspect. Never knowing why, leaving the film open-ended, I find that rare and refreshing.

I'd like to think there'd be a few little easter eggs that make us feel or think this.
