In ME:A will we have our own ship like the Normandy or do you think the Ark will act as our ship hub? Or maybe will we have our own personal ship like the Normandy and the ARK will kind of act like the Citadel did in ME 1-3. I personally think the latter is what is going to happen but I was thinking about the possibility of the former.

Also would anyone else like to see more customization of our personal ship? In ME 2/3 you had the pets you could buy for you cabin and then there were things like Shepard's helmet that were added if you got them in game but that was really it. I was thinking something like the customization of Shepard apartment you could do in The Citadel or of Skyhold in Inquisition. Just something minor to add a more personal touch to you personal quarters, like a different style bed.

The ARK is the new Citadel. We will have our own personal ship that is analogous to the Normandy.

I'd rather see exterior customization, similar to the upgrades in ME2, where you can improve your personal frigate in a variety of ways, whether firepower, speed, fuel, shielding, etc. Interior customization is okay, but it's certainly not a high priority on my list. Especially since the protagonist is still part of the military, it probably wouldn't be within regulation to go with a "Hello Kitty" theme for your ship, as an example.

Is that confirmed?

I agree on exterior customization but would you not have one of the most advanced ships from the Milky Way already? I guess if there is new Andromeda tech you could add it would work. I was just really referring to Ryder's personal quarters being customizable and have it be minor stuff.

Nothing about this game is confirmed, other than we are in the Andromeda galaxy, the mako is back, and we are a human protagonist somehow affiliated with the N7 program.

My only reasoning for this is concept art that looked like it was of the ARK was suggested by BioWare as being a "social hub," meaning it wouldn't be our own personal ship to traverse the galaxy in. Besides, the ARK is far to large to joyride around Andromeda. We need something the size of the Normandy in order to sneak in undetected.

We actually don't know anything about our new ship other than it might be called the "Tempest," if you believe unconfirmed leaks. We can assume it may be based off the same technology that powers the ARK, but we honestly don't know. Heck, it might be a hunk of junk, like the Millennium Falcon, and one of our tasks is to repair and upgrade the ship in order to traverse the Andromeda galaxy.

Assuming we are "Ryder," which I'm not convinced we are, I never saw much purpose in the personal quarters. We could feed fish, change our outfit, or turn on some music. While being able to add more personal touches would increase functionality to some extent, I'd rather the personal quarters have some tangible use. I'm not sure what exactly that would be, as Skyhold was largely worthless when it came to the Inquisitor's bedroom as well. You could change the drapes and design of the castle though. I find that to be largely fluff content and nothing else.

Sorry about that. I have not really followed anything on the game since it was announced. For the ARK I was thinking more of you take a ship out for a mission and then go back to the ARK after but yeah the more I think about it the less that makes sense.

I agree with you on the tangible use part too. In ME I always though the video screen in Shepard's quarters could have been used more video messages and getting some missions. They did improve on non-romance scene interactions in ME 3 but mostly with Traynor and Liara from what I can recall but yeah I would not mind more of that too.

No need to apologize. There really isn't anything to know about the game. All we can do is use deductive reasoning from the puzzle pieces we have and try to fit them together.

Yep. More dialogue between companions and crew members is fine. Diana Allers was also another example who showed up in your personal quarters. It would be somewhat interesting if they could make the personal quarters a fun place to be a contrast to the monotony of war and exploration in the main game. It's difficult to determine what other use it could have as I'm gathering BioWare likely isn't expecting players to spend a whole lot of time there.

I honestly completely forgot about that with Allers until you mentioned it.  Maybe it is easier designing the game to just make most of your companion interacts happen in their spot on the ship, as opposed to your quarters? I would like if they had more interactions between companions on the ship, though that improved a bit with each ME game.

Yep. Hopefully we get more depth towards dialogue with companions. I always felt they were often to brief and relationships were rushed as a result. MEA seems like it's going to be a massive game, so I hope the dialogue compliments its scale.

Ahem.

Well, I'd personally prefer if we got to have our own, customizable, upgrade-able, ship. Where as the "ARK" would be a big flying space station you could visit, like the Citadel, as you suggested.

I don't think the exterior ship customization would matter too much if our ship will just be getting us from planet to planet. But if our ship is going to get a lot of screen time - more than the Normandy ever did - then it is pretty important. However, that might be impossible if we'll be getting pre-rendered space battles. As for interior customization, I'd like to see a lot more than there was in ME2/ME3. And there wasn't really any in either of those games. The ability to select different themes for the interior, purchase new soundtracks for your space stereo, and display weapons would be alright. There was stuff like the Porthean Orb, N7 Helmet, Husk Head and Chessboard in the Normandy's cabin, and I'd like to see more stuff like that you can find to show off your "achievements."

I think it depends on the PC's background. if we are military, ship customization doesn't make a whole lot of sense but if we are more Government Sanctioned Explorers then I would hope for some minor levels of customization.
