I want to restart DAI on Hard. When I try to set up New Game, it ignores my World State in Dragon Age Keep and goes to default world state. How do I load world state into new runthrough? Do I have to delete all of my last runthrough?
Restarting DAI?

The Keep is having issues right now so no one can import their world state. You won't have to delete your last playthrough. Just gotta wait until they fix whatever is wrong.
Thanks for the quick reply! I was doing all the right things, but I still kept getting the default. That definitely not what I want. How long does it usually take to get things running again?

I don't know. It could be a number of hours still. They've been working on it for a long while already. :/
Rats! It's not like this game came out yesterday! Oh well... Thanks for the info...

I'm guessing you started right before it crashed.
Also; if anyone has any links to official posts it might be a good idea to drop them here so Deadly can keep up (pun not intended) with the status of the Keep.

Update: custom world state import into DA:I is working for Xbox users. For PC and PlayStation, we're still working on a fix. Stay tuned!

This is why Keep needs to create a file on the user's desktop that can be loaded into Inquisition at any time. Having to sync with Keep through the Internet is bull crap.
Seriously, a local file would be great. A world state (even multiples) probably wouldn't chew up as much data as a full save file. That's an awesome idea.

As nefarious plans go, this one doesn't make much sense. DA4 and DAI won't run without Origin, and the Keep has nothing to do with Origin.Thanks. But BileWear said making a data file would be counter to the purpose of the Keep, which is to represent all decisions made in the games and keep them in the cloud for later titles. Which is also bull crap because nothing new added in Keep from this point on will have any affect on Inquisition's storyline or worldstate. It's just another ploy to get people downloading the latest Origin program so they can read your player data and probably anything else on your computer.
Yeah, I get that you've probably hacked your own game so it doesn't use Origin, but you really think that Bio cares enough about you doing that to chsnge their Keep design just to drag you back in?
Paranoia aside, the real reason there's no local file is that it's easier for Bio to do it this way.
Edit: actually, I don't think EA really is collecting that much data. Or if they are, they're not using it effectively. They keep showing me ME Trilogy ads. Come on, guys, can't you figure out that I already own the ME games?

But in order to connect to the Keep you need to start Origin while connected to the Internet. This opens Inquisition, and allows it to connect with Keep. So you do have to go through Origin.
If I knew how to hack it I would. But no, all I do right now is play off-line. And I didn't write that BioWare would change anything to drag me back in. They set it up so that people would be dragged back in. I'm saying they should change it so users can create a data file so that in the event Keep goes down, either temporarily or permanently, players can still get their world states loaded into their games.
I highly doubt it. Keep already has to create some kind of file for DA:I to read. Why can't it read the file off a desktop also? Because BioWare wants players connecting their systems to their databases to get their information.

I'm not quite sure I follow this. To run DAI in the first place you gotta run Origin anyway -- more precisely, Origin automatically starts up in the background when you launch DAI. Is this just about having to have your rig connected to the Internet at the moment you load the state from the Keep?

Under what circumstances would this be worth spending any dev time on? If the Keep isn't working at the time you want to start a game with a new world state, it won't be able to write the file anyway. I suppose this could work for a player who writes up world states long before intending to use them, but I'm not sure that use case should have got onto the requirements list.

But again, they've already got that unless you're pulling out the plug.

Correct, which also sucks because if Origin fails for some reason then you can't play the game. But at least this does not require an Internet connection (usually). It required one time when I hadn't played in two weeks and it told me I had to verify my copy of Inquisition AGAIN by logging on to Origin. But yes, my gripe is that in order to get your worldstate out of the Keep, you must be logged in to Origin to run DA:I and you must be connected to the Internet. Thus, you are connected to EA's spy machine. This is opposed to simply obtaining a data file from Keep, placing it on your desktop, disconnecting from the Internet, and playing offline with your worldstate.

The player would have created the data files ahead of time. I had two worldstates, my official playthrough and my alternate. If I had the option at the time, I would have downloaded the data files for both and saved the alt for another time.
This would also avoid problems with syncing the game with the Dragon Age servers. Meaning, if there was no problem with Keep, but the servers are down, you can still get your worldstate out of Keep and transfer it to your system yourself.
But again, they've already got that unless you're pulling out the plug.
That's exactly what I do when I'm not using the Internet. I physically remove the Internet cable from my computer.
I play DA:I offline. The last time I connected was to download Descent (because of Origin issues Descent downloaded a day after Jaws of Hakkon and Trespasser). Before that, I was still playing DA:I with Patch 2 since the first install.
