Was lucky (I think) to find this axe in a chest today. How do I make the most use of it? (Class)

But the effect of the axe does not get a boost from the Katari Whirlwind Upgrade right?

I don't think so... But even if it does, the damage still sucks 

 

Without a single doubt, go for Hakkon's Valor. Much better stats and the proc abilities are actually useful and consistent.

I like to use it on my Katari with the Belt of urgency and the skill that gives me more damage the less HP I have.  Just drop your HP to somewhere between 10-50%, build and keep guard at all times, then hope no one uses the font.

Damage seems fine for me on Avvar  

 

AoE Lightning, AoE Fire, AoE Physical

 

Chilled Defence and that Axe has made Avvar so much fun for me.

DA and Katari is perhaps the most synergistic pairing in the game. Less damage, but perma-guard increases xp generation and survivability.

Unless you got the two handed hakkons, i would use this for every two handed warrior on your character list.

 

It is especially fun to use on the reaver (when you don't have the hakkons) and go into perilous as a lv1 and destroy everything whilst getting 5% hp returns per hit since you are in the midst of battle while still getting another 10-20% heal per kill.

 

Not bad on the Avvar either since you can gather back your stamina like nothing and use the leap over and over again.

 

Gave katari what he needed, this weapon increases your survivability by a long shot.

Thanks to this thread I went back and tried Katari with the Dancers Axe since I hadn't touched him in around 6 months.

11k Pommel Strikes and infinite guard.

I'll be playing him more now.

Thrown in a load of wash, turn Katari setting to heavy load and voila   Permaguard!

Because it's pretty  (But I can't deal with Dancers' damage either... Even for Katari)

I saw another player (promos around 50/50/50) using this axe and i wondered how he would be able to use whirlwind attack on lvl1. Was funny to see but... does the katari need any other attacks then? He just ran through the map (perilous) ...
