I'm replaying the game with the DLCs for the first time and I wonder if Trespasser makes it so that you can interact with companions after the vanilla final quest? I'm a bit wary of doing the final quest as the world is so boring after it, but on the other hand I've read that Jaws of Hakkon preferably should be done after it - and Trespasser of course - so I guess they make it so that you can still have dialogues with the companions even after finishing the vanilla main quest?
Do the DLCs change the aftermath of the vanilla final quest?

Indeed, those of us who failed to get Sera's Cookie and Roof scene were forever denied both that privilege and getting to join Red Jenny after the vanilla game. You will also want to run around with Dorian and Iron Bull if you want the two to become a couple (provided neither one is your romance option) before the end of the vanilla questline.

Hm, I think I'll postpone the final part of the main quest as long as possible then.

The way I would put it is this: don't do Doom Upon All the World until you've exhausted all of the Inner Circle stuff you want to do. It's fine to leave entire maps, like Emerald Graves, or entire achievements, like Dragon's Bane, for after Doom, but don't leave any of the companion or advisor stuff undone.Hm, I think I'll postpone the final part of the main quest as long as possible then.
You can do JoH before Doom, but I prefer to do it after because, to me, it fits the narrative better (Inquisitors, past and future) and it tends to level you up with so much OP gear and skills that doing Doom after seems like a gigantic anti-climax ... well, more gigantic, anyway.

Personally I think that both The Descent and Jaws of Hakkon seem to work best as post-campaign content.

Personally, it depends on whether or not I want to bring a certain companion with me....

Yes, that might work best narratively, but I tend to loose all interest after finishing the main quest so I think I'll do everything I want, except the Trespasser questline of course, before finishing it off.
Also, for my next play through I'll surely use Take It Slow from the start. It was a mistake not to do so with all DLCs and using other trials upping the XP.

I like playing the DLCs before Doom so by the time i get to Doom i can make Corypheus hurt more with my better equipment and higher level.

I tend to as well I may mix things up a bit in futuer playthroughs but I tend to do enough tasks to get me up to level 19/20 then do the DLC's befoer finishing the main game and complete the story with Trespasser.
