They always end up looking more detailed and just overall better than any of the custom faces. It's just kind of annoying that no matter how much time and energy I put into a character's facial features, they will never look as detailed as a real person's face that has been scanned into the game's engine.
No 'Iconic' protagonist face please

Ironically, your avatar is the best counter-argument. Iconic character faces have a profound impact on brand recognition. I know what game the character in your avatar is from, despite the fact that I have never actively looked it up or played it.
You're going to be hard pressed to convince anyone at Bioware-EA to lessen the impact of iconic character recognition as they try to establish a post-Shepard Mass Effect series.

They did it with Inquisition after going for the iconic look for Hawke in DA2.

This request really makes no sense. You can't make a custom face look as good as a pre-rendered face so pre-rendered faces must be removed? It's like a child destroying their own toy rather than let their sibling play with it for a while.

I don't like pre-render face because not only the protagonist, but the companions as well, due to their intricate details making the NPCs look like craps. There is a removal of immersion when they pan between the protagonist and the NPCs. It also brings in a sense of canon to the main protagonist which I often prefer them not to.

I'm not sure it's the best comparison, since that character isn't the protagonist of Life Is Strange. Ironically, that would prove you can have iconic character faces without them being the PC's.
After all, Bioware has experience with it. Revan's mask is more iconic than the PC's face and the Inquisitor, the protagonist from Bioware's last game, didn't have an "official" face.

It's a suggestion, not a demand. And your analogy sucks by the way.

Yes, please. You are not losing anything if Andromeda has an iconic protag. And if we take DAI`s CC in consideration, player created Pathfinders will look hella awesome. This is like asking "Don't have this weapon because it will surpass my favorite one".

The comparison doesn't work because Inquisition doesn't have any iconic character faces.

Default Shepard looked better did it?
OH!!!! I think I'll stick with custom Shep then, there rape faces aren't as creepy looking.

I don't see why they would need to have an iconic face face for the protagonist. Having an iconic set of armor and helmet face would work just as well. We only have to look at iconic characters like Master Chief and Samus to see that.

It seems like you're being willfully obtuse. I specifically called it a request, not a demand.

That's my issue with it, neither of my male Sheps so far have been the default but it's Sheploo's face that defines the series. I however barely recognise that guy, I barely know him at all other than seeing him occasionally on the forum or the CC screen.
Also it's irritating to me that his scanned face is so much more detailed and superior in quality to custom made Sheps. It's like you're a second class character if you don't go with it.

Even if I can't edit all of it. I can see why I wasn't allowed to edit the geometry of Sheploo, but let me change his eye colour or skin texture or hairstyle.

Well the only picture they've shown of our protagonist was fully clad in N7 armor:

I could be mistaken, but I believe the real life model Shepard's face was based on was shown in the earliest reveal of ME1 long before it released.
Not that Dragon Age Inquisition is necessarily an indication, but BioWare seems to be focusing now on the hero wearing an iconic set of armor with his/her face hidden as a way of not taking agency away from the player. I never identified my Shepard with default maleShep, so it makes a lot of sense if this is their new marketing strategy.

I think that all faces, including the defaults, should be made with options that the player can use for their own custom PC. Take FemShep's default hair. There's no reason it couldn't be part of the CC, but for some reason it wasn't.
