I am new to crafting and the game in general, and I havent been able to find a solution to this on google:

 

So I got the schematics for the best dagger in the game from the Tombs. Crafted the Masterwork Dual Curved Blade, life is good. I then craft a Masterwork Dagger Grip, and I can't use that upgrade on my dagger.

Some special weapons do not take any upgrades. You need to check first before building the upgrade. If it doesn't have an empty slot for the upgrade, no can do. BTW, same applies to some armors as well.

But in the case of the Masterwork Dual Curved Blade, it does take a Grip, but it has to be a Dual Blade grip. The Masterwork Dagger Grip is a single blade grip.

Daggers are funny because you need two types of grips.  For the Dual curved blades, the masterwork dagger grip wont work, you need something like the masterwork mabari grip.

Ok thats definitely my problem, but damn this game doesnt explain ANYTHING. I just found yesterday there is a combo system in the game; not from the game itself but youtube. Also, it is possible to get 2-3 consecutive commands in Tactics mode and no where in game does it mention any of this.

Actually ... many of these details are explained, during loading screens. Thumb through the "tarot cards" on screen. At least in my case, the one about combos happens annoyingly frequently. I've seen it at least a hundred times. You can also read them all if you want by looking at the Codex/Tutorial section. Don't ask me how to open the Codex, I have to rediscover it every time (on PC).

No, you can't queue up multiple commands in Tactics. You're lucky if even one command works the way you want.

You can, I found a youtube video on it, which I cant find now. For example you can ask someone to move to a certain spot, like move Varric to higher ground, then input your attack, all in one turn, and he will do it.

Well, if you can find the video, please post the link. I've tried every combination of key and mouse clicks on PC to make that work and haven't been able to figure it out.
