Should I buy the DLCs now, or beat the game first? I am not sure if DLCs just add more end game content or make the original game easier.

My goal is to beat most of the content in game, to experience everything. Then on my second playthrough I'll probably skip a lot.

Yes all dlcs add more content. Plus with the golden nug any good schematics can be transferred to other playthrus to help you burn thru your next game. I would recommend it if you really enjoy inquisition.

Buy at least Trespasser. It's required to make the new game mechanics work correctly and to get new items in the main game.

The rest don't matter as much. You can buy later. BUT, I do agree with PawsPause that if you can afford all of them, get all of them.

Yes, I am definitely loving the game, but I read some where that if you buy one of the DLCs, they introduce new weapons, and they make everything super easy. I also read that the monsters in the DLC are scaled up, so its best to get as high as possible in the regular game then get the DLC.

Also, whats the order of the DLCs?

On the other hand, Trespasser has the Trials feature, which ups the difficulty in different ways (Even Ground making it so that no enemies are below the level of the inquisitor, for example). Personally, I think the Trials is a must have feature as the game tends to become a cakewalk even on Nightmare.

Oh, if only I had the mental wherewithal to skip stuff.  I'm a completionist to the bitter end and do everything every PT.  But yeah, get the DLC.  If you can afford it and you are enjoying the game, no reason to not get it. The nug and the trials are worth it, and there are some nice rings and swag you can get with the DLCs.

Sorry my question seems to have confused people., My question isnt should I buy the DLC, I will for sure. My questions is should I buy it before beating the original game or wait until after? I just completed Hinterlands, and now I am in the Storm coast area, so a lot of the game to go through.

Might as well get everything now.

The Descent DLC is actually designed to be a play as you progress DLC.

JoH is definitely end game as is Trespasser, but might as well have them now.

Look for a GotY sale and pick that up.

Don't worry about DLCs making stuff easy. There's awesome loot in JoH and The Descent, but you don't get it until you play the DLCs. The Golden Nug can blow a second playthrough wide open, but only if you deliberately use it.

That's what I meant by my answer. Get Trespasser, then start playing your first playthrough. It's not too late, though you've already missed some good stuff by not having Tresspasser improvement from the very beginning. In fact, you locked yourself out of some achievements. But, still not too late. This is all main game I'm talking about, not the C in DLC.
