What?

Basically I'm trying to say that just because a video game does not make sense logically does not at all mean that a game will not be made with such parameters.

It's not going to happen. As I said before, they aren't going to downgrade all their systems just for a setting that frankly, isn't all that interesting to begin with.

Works for me.  I don't have a PS4 yet and it'll be priced even lower in Q1 2017.

This also gives me more time to focus on the real world.  Build up my systems for financial freedom and handling the opposite sex.

Staff turnover is common and I don't understand how it is a sign of trouble for a game,

True.

However, three senior people leaving during a major project is uncommon. It can lead to easy speculation of a "malaise".  My experience in office politics (which can be brutal) tells me these possibilities:

1. Major complaints from worker bees, forcing mgt to show them the door.

2. Different visions of ME:A vs senior mgt view... exit stage left.

3. All three had legit reasons to leave.

If I had to pick one, it would be #2.

From a Swiss game retailer description:

WW1 Battlefield 5 in October? [Updated] [Feb 26, 2016, 09:34 am ET] - 43 Comments

German Swiss e-tailer World of Games now has a listing for Battlefield 5, which, if accurate, reveals a World War I setting for the next installment in the military shooter series. They call it a "Mehrspieler Taktik Shooter im 1. Weltkrieg," which in English is "Multiplayer tactical shooter in WW1," and list an October 26, 2016 release date. If that post ends up disappearing, NeoGAF has it preserved for posterity. Thanks PCGamesN, who point out that dates leaked in such a manner are often wrong, but the included of game details carry a certain degree of credibility. Update: While we expected this listing to be quickly removed, this remains at the end of the day, but the description has been edited to remove the reference to World War I, as it now just reads: "Mehrspieler Taktik Shooter."

To my knowledge it has only been Chris Wynn and Chris Scherlf that have left Andromeda so far.

There could be other possibilities as well:

4. A higher ranking position outside the company or more responsibility at the same level.

5. An offer they cannot refuse either being monetary in nature or a game they always wanted to work on.

6. They don't have to deal with Canadian winters anymore like Drew Karpshyn.

I am not going to guess at why they left the company, but it doesn't always mean something negative was happening in the background.

I am starting to wonder, is MEA the next Half Life 3?

Don't think so as I don't remember Half life 3 ever being announced whereas MEA has been

UC4 looks pretty and that's it. Same  basic, barebone, automated & scripted gameplay as always. Series is basically the quintessence of the industry's issues, all show but no substance, yet Sony fanboys will pretend it's the second coming. TLOU from the very same studio shows well how shallow UC series is in terms of gameplay

Kind of agree. I went back to play the Uncharted games last summer and man they lack depth. They were great when you got them, like a good summer blockbuster, but after seeing what Naughty Dog did with The Last of Us it leaves me wanting more of that. Still i will check out Uncharted 4, it seems like a decent experience, but not a full price one.

I'm not a Sony fanboy and I don't believe UC4 is the second coming. I just believe naughty dog, the persistent perfectionists and multiple delay artists they have become, have a good shot at GOTY 2016. The project managers of TLOU took over UC4 and a lot of turnover happened (kinda like what's happening at Bio now....) so many believe UC4 to be much darker and different than its predecessors.

I don't know any other game that's coming out in 2016 that has a chance, but maybe E3 will offer some answers!

Not a legit reason to quit your job. You can always dress for the winter. I do it all the time.

There are rumours that EA is exerting too much creative control on Bioware senior creative staff, as reason(s) for so many leaving the company and for the studio's games becoming "diluted". Here is a quote from Dr. Greg Zeschuck who claims that "EA gives you enough rope to hang yourself".

Key staff that left Bioware, that I'm aware of:
Chris Wynn        --  Senior Development Director

Casey Hudson   --  Executive producer

Chris Scherfl      --  Lead Writer

David Gaider     --  Lead Writer

Rich Vogel         --  Executive Producer  <== staff reduction/restructuring at Austin (the Realms fiasco?)

Patrick Weeks   --  Lead? Writer

Cameron Harris--  Lead? Editor  <== recently announced her departure this coming April

Factoid: Both Patrick and David worked on this "new IP", then left for some reason.

What the heck are you talking about? Patrick Weeks is a lead writer of Dragon Age and have nothing to do with the secret IP. There's a factoid for you.

He doesn't know what he's talking about. His pattern on this forum is to assemble half-truths and hearsay into the most alarming narrative he possibly can. Notice the "There are rumors..." bit; I suppose that's technically true, if "here's something I made up" counts as a rumor.

XCOM2 is better than all other Uncharted games. We'll see about the 4th one.

Anyway, Mass Effect Andromeda can be a major GoTY contender regardless of the year it's released. There's plenty of cynicism here but the truth is that Mass Effect is a top tier franchise, Mass Effect 2 was the Game of the Year in 2010 against heavy competition. Mass Effect 3 was also GoTY material, but the ending shitstorm didn't do it any favors, which is also the game's fault.

Not the same genre at all. Plus shooters are way more popular than turn-based games that aren't named Pokemon.

I mean, I fully agree with you, and I'll take XCOM 2 over Uncharted any day. That series is all show and little substance, yes it's pretty yet it plays like all the other linear, cutscene-fueled, cover-based hollywood shooters on the market. But in terms of critical acclaim Naughty Dogs are industry darlings.
