More delays and no news? What's really going on with MEA?

Ah, but you forget that in this stage in development they are under a non-disclosure agreement. So they can't say too much.
Consumers aren't shareholders unless they own EA stock.
Ah, but you forget I'm not asking BioWare to tell me the entire point of the game. I'm less interested in gameplay features and more interested in "development is going well" and "we delayed for more polish" and "we'll be providing more updates for the game at this time."
You are missing the point, as usual. The fact that EA is a publicly-trade company is the very reason they are to be held accountable for their actions by the consumers. The fact that much of their revenue for investment comes from consumers is a perfect example of why they should be transparent with consumers. Why do you think there are financial reports and conference calls that publicly-traded corporations do? Because they are obligated under US Corporate Law to make this information available to the public because the public invests in these companies directly. So really, stop with the nonsense already.
Video games are luxury items. If you have doubts about its quality, take some responsibility for your money, and don't buy it. Forum panic is pointless.
Kind of hard to know whether or not you should buy something if developers and publishers try to hide the issues and faults with the game. What do you think WB did with Batman Arkham Knight? Do you know how many millions of dollars WB lost because Rocksteady botched the PC port? Hiding development woes did not do WB any favors. They ended up paying much more in the end. That's not how you run a business.

It remains to be seen what Schlerf's early departure meant, but honestly I'm not too concerned. I have little faith this game will be one of those I love and keep going back to from years to come but it's okay, becuase I just want a new Mass Effect game at this point, which was how I felt about DA:I too. For all the times I criticize DA:I I was still very content with the time I spent with it when it initially released even if it's kinda meh in hindisght. It's not so bad that it stopped me from playing through it 3 times with 80 hours for each playthrough.
Snip
Most people saw AK's potential issues right from its E3 unveiling because it emphasised the batmobile and people knew Paul Dini wasn't writing it. If you're skeptical about a game and you don't want to support it in case it turns out to be poorly done, wait a week at least and check user-impressions or just look at professional reviews and see what they write as opposed to what scores they give it.

While I agree with this sentiment, you will not enjoy MEA if it is a broken, buggy mess. This was the case with Batman Arkham Knight. I am a huge fan of the series and have been an avid supporter of Rocksteady since Arkham Asylum released in 2009. With one game Rocksteady killed all of my interest in the franchise because it was so horribly broken and they didn't even bother to fix it (not to mention the game was delayed twice and still not fixed). Even now, the PC port of the game is trash and WB and Rocksteady have moved on.
If MEA were to be anywhere as much of a disaster as Batman Arkham Knight or Assassin's Creed Unity, the fallout will be much worse than what BioWare suffered because of ME3's ending. The game being delayed this far away from release means BioWare is planning ahead because they game is that ambitious and it likely won't be in a polished state by Holiday 2016. I'm fine with the delay. That's not my issue. I just want BioWare to somewhat acknowledge what is actually going on.

The game is almost a year away from release. You have all of that time and then the rest of your life to decide if you want to buy it or not. Settle the hell down and get your entitlement in check. No one is forcing you to decide right now whether or not you want to buy it.

You're conflating two completely different things to justify your absurd panic-mongering. What does a brief delay have to do with the final product being bad and how could a developer be sued for said minor delay? Use your brain.
Irony, your name is Killroy.

You'll probably get another update in a few months. So sit tight and relax.

It'll be one of the big showings for E3, maybe they'll also announce a more specific release date.

No. We won't. We'll be lucky if we learn anything at E3, which is in more than three months.

There are no "guarantee[s]."
It could be. Nobody knows. It's baseless speculation. With the delay, if they do show anything, it could be very minor. We are more likely to get something big from N7 Day.It'll be one of the big showings for E3, maybe they'll also announce a more specific release date.

I think the best thing to do is just wait until it's released. I made the mistake of getting excited over DAI because of the all the info that was coming out about it including the gameplay leaks, and then believing the devs who posted about features that never ended up in the game. So imo, it doesn't even matter if the devs give you a heap of info right now as it could all end up in the trash can come the final release of the product anyway.

What amazes me is how so many are missing the point of this thread. It's not complaining about not knowing any of the game features in the game. It's complaining about key developers leaving, unexplained delays, and absolutely no communication from BioWare about anything. I'd rather BioWare just occasionally jump in and say "development is going well." I don't care if they don't tell us anything about the game. The fact that they never talk on these forums at all is beyond me as it's pretty standard for any AAA game that has a forum to have some level of engagement between the studio and the fans. Why have the forums at all?

The bigger the delay the better chances we get a game that won't be patched every week after its released, or in DAI's case, cut out the original ending and some pretty cool plot twists due to time.

If they avoid the fate of ME3 ending, Assasins Creed's technical difficulties and microtransactions that would already be an accomplishment.

Here's a plan, go back and read everything you've said, then ask yourself that question again. /facepalm

Someone has to call out your nonsense. Otherwise, this entire forum would be filled with misinformation. Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere. There has to be a voice of reason on a forum filled with mostly lunatics or BioWare diehards.

It's funny (and sad) when you think about it. People wanted a DLC ending for ME3 and we end up getting that for DAI instead.

Pfft. You deal exclusively in misinformation, panic-mongering and condescension. The fact that you think you're this forum's salvation is par for the course and should surprise no one.

Bioware really missed it here, the big oportunity to troll us fans so hard and get a marketing coup de luxe ... by simply releasing the end (and I am talking about an action-packed final long mission right after Shep wakes up in rubble, not just that sad EC-credit-stuff) as a Free-LC a month or two after release as a surprise. Or, considering the immediate shitestorm that came up, maybe with a little hint that we are not done yet. Would have been risky still, but in hindsight, the real shitestorm was far worse than the Free-LC-End would have been ...
Ah, one can dream about what could have been ... instead: Art ... yeah...right ... *chuckle*. Would have preferred a marketing-ploy this time around...

Hmm, Mass Effect is getting delayed until January-March 2017.....now what could EA possibly be focusing on at the end of the year that would cause them to delay the release of a new chapter in a science fiction series...

Ooooh, right.
